Guide to Installing Mavericks on HP Probook

I have been looking but couldn't find an answer....
I have an HP proBook 4530s and have been using it with Mavericks and the HP ProBook Installer 6.1 (6.1.13r3), which hasn't been updated in a while, so was wondering is there now an up-to-date installer somewhere, or an up-to-date guide please, as this forum post is extremely long and wanted to include the latest MultiBeast 6.4 stuff.

Kind regards.

Why do you need MultiBeast or new PBI? Anything not working for you?

All working ok, but want to keep current and up-to-date, so wanted the latest info.

Cheers.

You need to check the box for the BootLoader

- Chameleon: This allows you to boot from your main HDD/SSD

Also Wifi Card needs to be a compatible card most likely, if not definitely, will need to be swapped out

Hi make a new complete install with this http://www.tonymacx86.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide.html

and then finalise with HP Probook Installer :

1/ OSX support kexts
2/ DSDT generator
3/ Display type / Low
4/ System definition / i3 Ivy
5/
Chameleon

At restart i had error CMOS checksum is invalid but then reboot with correct Chameleon bootloader.
Wifi does not work and in
http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-mavericks/112380-guide-installing-mavericks-hp-probook-134.html at point 16 it's written Atheros 9485 is not compatible. Maybe an issue later... searching in the forum. Thanks all for your help. I'll tell you more soon.

I too have that same error. Sometimes it comes up and sometimes it doesnt. I typically just sleep my Probook and wake when needed so I dont run into it that often. I believe it started when I upgraded my BIOS. I cannot confirm that it is the case but Its worth looking into since its during the Pre-bootloader that it occurs, I don't believe it has anything to do with the installation of OS X.

In terms of the Wifi, it looks like this could be an option for the probook AR5BHB92 (ar9280)

The latest info is available in the sticky posts. There has been no need to update the ProBook Installer to handle current versions of Mavericks released to-date.

If you updated your BIOS, you need to repatch DSDT. Did you?

My BIOS was updated to F.43 before I installed 10.9

Hi guys
Firstly and most importantly thanks for all the effort that has gone into this!
I've used a PC with VirtualBox running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and followed all the instructions of this thread (Created Yesterday so latest Install OS X Mavericks, etc) and come up with the following error on first boot ...

Laptop: HP Probook 4530s B0X28EA#ACQ All stock but with 8GB RAM and 750GB HDD
BIOS Version: 68SRR Ver. F.41

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the help.
After reading comments about in other threads about avoiding pauses during downloading the mavericks app from the store I deleted it and re-downloaded it again and finally got a usb that would boot.
The install went really smoothly. I got the 4 screens error on boot and this was down to ticking high resolution screen in probook installer.

I also got lazy and reinstalled only deleting the partition I was writing to. This resulted in boot error0. I installed again erasing the whole drive and everything is now running very smoothly.

Everything works except bluetooth which is permanently on. I found a video on youtube of someone running an atheros ar5b195 which they said was compatible for BT and wifi. After installing it I get an error message on boot saying it is unrecognised and that is has been disabled. Am I missing something - is there an hp specific model of this atheros card, or is it just not compatible?

This guide is for installing on bare-metal, not a VM.
