Hi
Success with a fresh High Sierra install.
I got a working Mojave install, but was having trouble getting clover to work properly. If I copied my USB EFI partition to my SDD EFI partition, I had a limited resolution. And then I came across this post that Mojave no longer supports Intel Gen 2 processors, and I'm running integrated graphics.
Common Problems and Workarounds on 10.14 Mojave This is a thread where we collected common problems, changes, fixes and also workarounds for some problems that are present on macOS Mojave. (more sections to be added, work in progress) This is not a troubleshooting thread ! If you have any...

I bet Mojave could be worked around: maybe someone will post a guide.
Otherwise 10.13.6 might be the end of the line for this build, which is still doing well.
Installing High Sierra went pretty smoothly. Then I installed the 2019 security update from the server, and that offered an install boot option twice (or three?) times in a row before it was done. I had to try twice to get that working.
To get clover to work, I had to add an APFS driver. I had to follow the advice form this thread:
It seems as if we're into a point by point update of apfs.efi in High Sierra. To find your current apfs.efi: 1. Boot into macOS High Sierra 2. Choose Finder > Go > Go To Folder 3. Navigate to /usr/standalone/i386/ 4. Copy apfs.efi to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ macOS Mojave...

And then I had no audio, but I followed the advice of these two threads:
High Sierra - MultiBeast Audio Selections by Intel Motherboard Series 12/7/2018: DEPRECATED - See High Sierra AppleHDA Audio Once Clover is successfully booting macOS/High Sierra with the system drive, install Realtek audio with MultiBeast. Note: Restart before installing MultiBeast audio...

Issue: MultiBeast Audio does not work upon first reboot? Solution: Re-run Audio portion of MultiBeast after rebooting from system drive. Explanation: Apple has changed the behavior for kextcache in Sierra. You need to install Audio after you are booted from the destination disk. Otherwise...

And voila. I'm really just using my TP-link 900 and audio. No bluetooth, no iMessage handoff, no HDMI audio, etc. so I haven't tried a lot of stuff. I'll post more if I find anything else useful to weekend hackers.
I also tried to merge in some of the config.plist settings from the attached file from the original post in this thread, specifically, i added the graphics device, the graphics have changed but they're still a little glitchy. if someone has a 10.13.6 config.plist they're using for this build I'd love to see it!
Update: I found that the screen saver was causing a total system freeze (kernel panic). I switched it off an the problem has gone away. But then it hasn't gone away. Still haven't fixed it. I started digging into this thread. I'm trying Macmini 5,1 as suggested on page 25 of the thread, and since I'm running on HD3000:
@n0ir, please update your profile (account details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card(s). If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard. Profiles are mandatory so that others can assist you.

Update: Still froze overnight. Trying another fix mentioned in the above thread, discussed in more detail in this thread. I have that exact symptom of the HD light frozen on:
Hello, I had 2 freezes in 3 days, when a freeze occurs: - HDD/SSD led full ON (not blincking) - Cannot move mouse, system responds to nothing Nothing is logged in system.log Occurs on both 120GB and 500GB SSD. Occurs once in 10-12 hours.. Cannot say exactly how often.. First time: When I...

Update: Whoa this appears to have helped. I added the two ktext patches from this thread manually. and now $ uptime 1 day, 2:54 so far.
Update: Still, no more random freezes. But graphics are still a little glitchy.
Update: A few times I left the machine overnight, and when I came to wake it up, I got a pointer, but an otherwise black screen. I've added
darkwake=0 to the config.plist to see if that helps
