Managed to install El Capitan and used your Multibeast settings, but when I try to boot, HD light goes for a bit but screen is black.

Am not sure where to put the plist file and do I still need to use DSDT file?

Any help would be great )

Update...

Added plist file and DSDT file, but still not luck same blank screen.

Have tried just using clover post installation pacakage, still same output... blank screen.

Hi Tony! Thank you for continuing this build. Great work :)

Could you do a bit more of an in depth guide, as I am a bit confused.

Got El Capitan installed and tried multibeast 8.0.1 with your .mb file settings, also adding HD3000 graphics in multibeast too.

Copied plist to efi/clover.. folder etc.

When I boot after all that, just get flashing cursor for a few seconds, then blank screen.

No Clover bootloader nothing.

Have also tried using clover from post installation folder as you said using -root with plist and mulitbeast settings.

Get the same result :(

Also if I use Multibeast I am not able to boot using USB it just crashes, something about nano seconds etc.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Did you ever get the audio working (Not HDMI)?
I did a clean install to El Cap, and I can't get my 3.5mm audio ports to enable.
Any suggestions?

Dear All, I have been running a similar system, except Geforce GT 460 Graphics for years, it finally keeled over, so I have a new disk and am trying to install Sierra using Clover - when I reboot to run Multibeast, the thing hangs towards the end of where the apple logo is - its a H67-MA-USB-B3 F3 motherboard. Any help appreciated, for what has been an awesomely reliable piece of kit, many thanks all! Disabled USB 3.0 and done the usual. I did reboot once and came back to find a lot of debug messages on screen on the screen - would this stop it, if I re-booted without running Multibeast? Its all pretty slow via the USB stick, so I got bored and life must have stopped me playing!

I've managed to install Sierra 10.12.2 on my build, but I don't get the HDMI sound to work, did anything change betwenn El Capitan and Sierra, because the solution presented in this thread is not working (no audio device).

haven't tried HDMI sound.

but for a while my new clover / sierra install was showing HD2000, but now i just ran the new multibeast 9.1 (instead of 9.0.1 which i had run originally) and i'm showing HD3000 and finally no more little graphics glitches!

thx!! :D:thumbup:

I just upgraded this exact hardware to el capitan. I initially tried Sierra but ran into issues and settled on trying to get el capitan working. I got everything working on el capitan (and think it will work fine with sierra now) so I thought I'd share what I had to do to get everything. I followed the initial guide to get Lion up and running when I 1st made this build back in 2011.

Here's what you should know upgrading from the initial build to the new OS:
  • Upgrade the bios to F9
  • Select reload optimized settings
  • Turn off USB3
Using the unibeast installer, follow the guide, I used Legacy UEFI but I don't think it matters if you turn off USB3 in bios.

Once you're booted into the new OS, install the latest Clover on your boot drive.

So this is what got me, there are 2 different DSDT's. One is in the Downloads -> DSDTs -> Gigabyte -> H67 -> F9 with HDMI
There's also a DSDT on this page on the second post by Toleda:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/official-customac-mini-2011-guide-and-notes-in-progress.29817/

Both of them are different.

First let me say that a big problem (for me) was that I was putting the DSDT.aml file (for clover) in the wrong place. I was putting it in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched
It should go in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/
Where the "boot" file is located. That caused me about 16 hours of un-needed frustration.

Second, I combined the DSDT's from the Downloads (area of the site) and the one from Toledas post. Had I to do it over again, I would start with the DSDT from Toledas post #2 here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/official-customac-mini-2011-guide-and-notes-in-progress.29817/

If memory serves me right, as of yosemite the layout Id's changed from
0x85, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00
to
0x03, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00

Or the other way around, forgive me I gave this hackintosh to a friend and it's at his house or else I'd just pull it up and upload the DSDT. (Next time I'm there, I'll just upload it here)

Then use the config.plist on the 1st page of this post.

With just the DSDT, you'll see audio devices in Apple -> About This Mac -> System Report -> Audio
There will be a bunch of devices under Intels high def audio. But there wont be anything in System Configuration under Audio.

This is what I had to do to get HDMI audio to work:
Run Multi-beast for El Capitan, chose the options from Tonys post on the 1st page:
FakeSMC
Drivers -> Network -> Realtek -> RealtekRTL8111 v2.0.0
Drivers -> Graphics -> Intel HD 3000

I also had to add this one:
Drivers -> Audio -> ALC889 and choose the HD3000 HDMI audio

Once that was done, I saw audio devices in the System Configuration area but no HDMI
Then I ran the command from
https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC
Chose the default options, rebooted and had HDMI audio working

Hope this helps anyone else... I don't know if either of the DSDT's (without touching them) from either toledas post or from the dsdt downloads area work alone with the config that tony posted in the 1st post on this without having to add the ALC889 drivers in multibeast and using the hdmi audio linker command from github. But that's what i had to do.

Jason

Thank you for your advice!
I took the DSDT from Toledas post, you've mentioned, did the edits and proceeded with everything else and got HDMI sound with Sierra 10.12.6 working!

Has anyone tried to update this setup to High Sierra?

I will give this a go on my other setup...

Hello! I tried lot of times with sierra and Hight sierra and a lot of Issues!!!

SO I Suggest do Installation with ELCAPITAN:

Very easy with :
New Unibeast for El capitán
Remember always setup unibeast installation with LEGACY mode, otherwise your Motherboard does not
recognize the USB for install.
After install, goes to run MULTIBEAST and setup with Legacy Boot, Drivers -> Audio -> ALC889 (is not working for me),
And restart!!

I Installed a WIFI USB MEROSS MWA255 with mac drivers and it works FINE!!!!
And I also installed a external USB audio card and also works audio for me.
So , AUDIO native does not work, but I tried with 2 Audio interfaces different , and it works fine!!
Thanks
