[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Hi during post installation i am unable to download the clover application it keep saying an error has occurred.

No idea what you mean by "clover application".

Crucial 16GB DDR4 2400 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Module
MFR # CT16G4SFD824A

I’m planning to use the Samsung 1TB 970 EVO NVMe M.2 Internal SSD. B&H has a pretty good deal on it right no.
$259.99 but it is back ordered a couple weeks.

And it is a stupid long post for one stupid question.

2x CT16G4SFD824A runs fine in a NUC8i5BEK and NUC7i5BNK. A 1TB 970 EVO is fine too and was $32 cheaper on BF.

I may eventually create a separate thread for the NUC8, but for now here are the notable differences:
- add EmuVariableUefi-64.efi to drivers64UEFI
(you will experience lockups on restart, shutdown, sleep, and SysPrefs->Startup Disk without it)
- in BIOS settings you *must* enable legacy boot (continue to boot UEFI, but enable legacy for CSM)
(you will have KP/reboot without it)

I haven't ran into either issue w/o these on 10.14.2 & BIOS 0056

I have a NUC8i5BEH with 16GB RAM and 2,5inch SSD

I am a total Macintosh Novice and would like to install the latest MacOSX (don't know yet where to get the iso from). However I wouldn't like to install on my SSD but to an external drive connected to the NUC via USB. I only want to boot into OSX occasionally and don't want to plug in the USB drive all the time.

Is this possible?

I purchased the i3 BEH Gen 8 NUC. Followed all of the instructions that you documented and am to the point where I am booting from the (Clover) USB and selecting boot from Hard Drive option. It brings up the apple logo, progress bar, and then brings up the map where I need to select where I live and within 5 seconds or so, the system restarts. I have tried it 3 times and it's a consistent reboot cycle. And I cannot boot directly from the Hard Drive yet (tried that), unfortunately.

Any ideas?

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

I tried Boot Verbose but it doesn't help - I get passed the boot before this happens.

I have attached the clover folder except the "themes" sub-folder, as requested.

I re-read through all of the posts here and I fixed the issue by modifying the graphics ID setting to 0x12345678. I'll be checking everything else the next few days to be sure of functionality. I am to the desktop which is a big milestone!

Hi,
I've re-prepared my Mojave Installation according to RehabMan tutorial https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...g-clover-uefi-nuc7i7bxx-nuc8i7bxx-etc.261711/ and https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/
I seem to struggle at one point though
Install Clover UEFI as described in the guide linked by the previous section (post #2). After installing Clover, and configuring it correctly (config.plist, kexts, HFSPlus.efi, etc) you should be able to boot from the HDD/SSD.
It seems that Clover_v2.4k_r4813 does not provide HFSPlus.efi. I also can not find any further documentation on how to obtain and where to copy/install it.
I also do not know if I need it.
Currently I my Hardware Specs are as follows:
Intel NUC8i5BEK
Samsung SSD 970 PRO NVMe
Regards

Poncho

Ok, I've copied the HFSPlus.efi from https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrowerPro/tree/master/Files/HFSPlus/X64
But it is not working:
* Clover Bootup - ok
* Run setup (run disk-utility : ok)
* Run macOS install ( 2 minutes left : crash - freezes and does not respond anymore to keyboard and mouse)
I am not able to find a log that gives me a hint what causes the crash.
Will try to investigate further.
