[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Wrong. Must be disabled prior to patch_hda.sh. Otherwise, patch_hda.sh applies the xml/zml patch (which is not applicable to fully patched AppleHDA).

When you patch AppleHDA.kext, make sure first that vanilla AppleHDA.kext is in /S/L/E.

this the output from ./patch_hda.sh ProBook
Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data

Error Reading File: /tmp/rm_Platforms.plist

Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data

Error Reading File: /tmp/rm_Platforms.plist

Creating AppleHDA.kext for ProBook...

rm: AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/*.xml*: No such file or directory

Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data

Error Reading File: /tmp/rm_Platforms.plist

Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data

Error Reading File: /tmp/rm_Platforms.plist

Done.

and the resulting AppleHDA.kext is : see attachment

will use that kext to install with kext wizard to see whats going on

You and I have no idea what version of 10.12 that is from.
Use the macOS installer.

and if it is not good i have to reinstall os x? right now i have the updated 10126 / the installer is 10.12.2

Download 10.12.6. Re-create installer USB.

so that is a vanilla

Assuming you didn't mess with it.

was not instructed like this yesterday.

I wrote:
"Make sure you have a correct config.plist on your EFI partition when you run the script (the script uses your config.plist to determine the appropriate patches for the AppleHDA binary)."
As also noted, "correct config.plist" means that xml/zml patch is disabled.
The things I listed were not necessarily provided in the order you needed to do them.

I think you don't have vanilla AppleHDA.kext in /S/L/E.

Assuming no other changes to AppleHDA, if you remove those files, you will be left with vanilla AppleHDA.kext.

remove those files (*.xml*) I did removed them( deleted them )... and that was the output from patch_hda.sh after the deletion

allso i see that patch_hda does that , so why removing them if they will be removed by patch.sh?

You and I have no idea what version of 10.12 that is from.
Use the macOS installer.

i actually used this one :
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/vanilla-applehda-10-12-5.223294/ and left it like this (did not remove all
*.xml* from /resources) installed it with easykext pro but before runt this
sudo spctl --master-disable.

after this install had rebooted

after reboot. I've run patch_hda installed (with easykext pro)resulting kext and rebooted and I have working sound.

all bootups were made from internal EFI

As also noted, "correct config.plist" means that xml/zml patch is disabled.

only today I thought of that. sorry for that

The things I listed were not necessarily provided in the order you needed to do them.

Milion thanks mr @RehabMan

remove those files (*.xml*) I did removed them( deleted them )...

You removed the wrong files.
My instructions were to remove *.zml.zlib, not *.xml*.

Your AppleHDA is now damaged. You will need to restore it via the macOS installer.

still i did not had the hotpached AppleHDA.kext as i overwrite it with one generated by patch_hda...

the *.xml* that i deleted was from a vanilla that i had downloaded .

after saw the output thought that something was wrong... and that you told i see what . i was not paying attention . i deleted those files because all others was folders ... and did not payed attention on extention and had confused with their disable terms xml/zml from CLOVER.

still i managed to use the vanilla from 12.5 , installed it, rebooted, patch_hda.sh installed the resulted AplleHDA.kext, rebooted and had sound.

But after power down and power on again (not reboot) KP is back. strange (for me).

do you by chance have this AppleHDA.kext 10.12.6 vanilla?

you mean by restoring ... installing new copy of sierra 12.6?

the KP is the same as one posted earlier... now writing from my phone

i think i will go back to 10.11 if i will not find that vanilla hda kext

Once you install patched AppleHDA.kext, you can no longer use patch_hda.sh.
patch_hda.sh can operate only if vanilla AppleHDA.kext is present in /S/L/E.

the *.xml* that i deleted was from a vanilla that i had downloaded .

Wrong. You should not be deleting any files from vanilla AppleHDA.kext.

Yup.

That procedure sounds correct.

But after power down and power on again (not reboot) KP is back. strange (for me).

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Refer to post #1, "Problem Reporting".

you mean by restoring ... installing new copy of sierra 12.6?

Not a new copy.
If you install to your same partition without erasing, the macOS installer will restore all system files.

Or if you only had used the hotpatch before, you can remove all the *.zml.zlib files from AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources.

You and I have no idea what version of 10.12 that is from.

Once you install patched AppleHDA.kext, you can no longer use patch_hda.sh.
patch_hda.sh can operate only if vanilla AppleHDA.kext is present in /S/L/E.

As I have already patch_hda.sh` my hotpatched file without deleting *.zml.zlib, and I`ve installed the resulting file to my S/L/E/ -was wrong because of not deleting files. After all this i used the downloaded vanilla 10.12. and from that I have deleted all the *.xml*, and had that output from patch_hda.sh ... So in my S/L/E/ I had the vanilla 10.12. downloaded and not mine hotpatched file. As i ruind it, still had the vanilla file intact and could reinstall it as needed. That I was trying to tell...

Wrong. You should not be deleting any files from vanilla AppleHDA.kext.

I got that . after got the KP I boot from install but closed Mac, after boot up I`ve downloaded the 12.5 vanilla ... installed it in S/L/E/ rebooted from internal /EFI runned patch_hda.sh, installed resulting patched AppleHDA.kext to S/L/E/ rebooted internal EFI and had sound .

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Refer to post #1, "Problem Reporting".

Attached are the /CLOVER/

If you install to your same partition without erasing, the macOS installer will restore all system files.

Thank you

I do not know why I get KP after power down and power up again.
