I went through the service manuals and we have the same computer, same Realtek drivers, same ssd slots, battery etc... the only difference is I have an Ethernet port & yours is a 2 in 1.

Sure let me go through my purchase history & I’ll write you a quick guide on setting up the BCM94360CS, hope you still have it; and the 2nd ssd.
is your laptop touchscreen? and thanks. I see some sort of adapter that you installed to add the 2nd ssd where the hdd connector able goes. does your laptop close without issue?

id still like to know the name of the adapters used. thanks

Hey, sorry for the late reply, had a long weekend. I managed to fix the display. I didn't want to roll back to Mojave to diagnose the issue. So I flashed Mojave on a USB instead & ran it with your opencore setup. I got the script to work by opening up IDLE & hitting run. I added the resulting text to the config and Big Sur finally booted properly. I updated to the latest opencore & customized it quite a bit with an entirely different method to patch brightness keys for a smoother transition amongst other things. I've had it running macOS for 3 years and it finally feels complete. Thanks for the assist.

Here's the 4k edid fix to add to your config and also my efi. You should format an extra USB to APFS & Install Big Sur on it. So you can see if it boots with the fix without touching the efi on your drive.
And to answer your questions, yes its touchscreen. 7573 & 7570 are the same variants and use the same parts. Check your GitHub for this machine for my pull request and info on how to install the SSD.

Mrgeque, you're a genius who fixed my laptop! :D Yoga C930, i7-8550u, UHD 620, Mojave 10.14.6. Thanks to your work I got QE/CI and brightness to work, both as slider and with keys (by using your patches and drivers :) )

I am having random trackpad and touchscreen issues. It seems that sometimes a kext is not loaded, or perhaps loaded in wrong order? It always worked in Clover, now it works 75% of the time or so. I have to have a mouse at hand to reboot when necessary. Have you experienced this as well? In ProperTree I am asked on every snapshot whether I'd like to disable VoodooInput, as it's clashing with VoodooPS2Controller, which you also have…

It's the first time ever Messages and Facetime work. Handoff is weirdly fun. Neither of those ever worked before. Now that the brightness works (I fixed it just now by using your .aml files) I'll have to see whether the screen returns to life after long sleep, this morning I woke up to no backlight.

Apple Watch unlock doesn't really work – it did on my test Catalina install, now back to Mojave it works maaaaaybe 10% of the time, but I know "real" Macs also have this problem.

So – I have Mojave and Catalina both completely working. Yet I can't boot into the Big Sur installer at all. The screen goes black, Opencore's log says:

So the dreaded EB|LOG:EXIT. The EDID patch didn't help. Experimenting with boot-args didn't help. Trying your quirk settings instead of mine didn't help. (It generated somewhat different errors, though.) Everything in the Dortania guide didn't help. Google… etc.

Have you done something extra to enable the Big Sur installer to boot?

Thanks for your Feedback. Im so Happy that this works For a Yoga C930. Im currently Aware of the 4K 48hz limit for 4k panels and thus have elected not to upgrade to Big Sur. @sebasinparis has added an EDID patch to the config.Plist
in post #23 which will assist in installing and running Big Sur, although screen will be limited to 48Hz. Again, I'm so pleased that my configuration has helped you, and works for ANOTHER machine. Thanks for your feedback

if you can post your OC.zip I can take a look at the kexts you're using

The EDID patch doesn't help, unfortunately. :/ I don't think the installer ever gets that far.

Here's the OC that loads Mojave/Catalina perfectly – I am not sure about sleep yet, because I've been too busy restarting 1000 times with ever-changing parameters, but otherwise the only thing not working is the internal microphone which would require a BIOS update that's never coming. And maybe I will try unpairing the Apple Watch… it was great fun the four times it worked :)

Thanks for taking a look!

the EDID patch in the config.plist in Post #23 is for DELL 7573/7570 and similar 4k screens. although you can use my efi, you still may need to tweak it for C930. like removing smcdell kext and so forth.
so my efi works in Catalina on your laptop perfectly? except?

No, I made my own EDID patch using post #14, then found another Python script and tried that one as well. That's not it.

Re: EFI: My starting point was my own Clover tutorial here – https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-4k-i7-8550u-99-working-updated-7-feb.270421/ I just wanted to try Big Sur, so I updated Clover and everything spectacularly broke. Since Clover now uses OC, I figured out I'd go straight to the source.

I had a lot already working with OpenCore, but not QE/CI, which made everything else horribly slow. I tried SO MANY THINGS. So many reboots. Who knew there were so many sub-sub-submodels of i7-8850u and UHD 620? Hackintool failed me, a similar Yoga laptop's guide failed me… then I found yours :)

I copied everything from your GPU section, only changing from 1916 to 191B. It turned out that those framebuffer- and additional patches were all necessary – guides online suggested adding either just the unifiedmem/stolenmem/fbmem ones, OR slot-name, OR… etc. Your BRT6 patch + some quirks fixed backlight and brightness, including the keys. Suddenly (my own) power management was also working, my Hacbook asked if I'd like some Apple Watch unlocking, a Brave icon with a wee phone on it appeared…

The one thing that the Dortania guide and my Yoga disagreed on was patched DSDT.aml. If I remove it, I lose power management and USB-C.
