GTX 560 Ti dual monitor / audio problems

Not open for further replies.
I just took out the 560 Ti and put in a GeForce 9800GT that a friend had lying around. Both monitors came up even after an extended shutdown.

I can't wait for a solution to get the 560Ti working because the window is closing to be able to return the card.

Now that the video/dual monitors is now working, I tackled the Boot0 error. After trying without success the procedure for Lion (boot0 Error: The Official Guide), I tried reinstalling Chimera v.1.11.1 in the Bootloader section of MultiBeast. That did it. That was my last issue. I now have a working hackintosh with no issues! We named it Frankintosh. The drive partitions are Igor, Victor, Frank and Stein. Vader is the SSD.:D

Just want to be clear dual monitors working with the 9800GT, NOT the 560ti? Cool on the build, I'm going to spring for a 660ti i think, I will be sure to post results when I do.

fixjet: I removed the 560TI and installed the GeForce 9800 GT yesterday and have not had a single dual display issue. Sleep or prolonged shutdown has made no difference whatsoever. Comes right up like a Mac.

OK, was pretty sure that is what you meant, just wanted to make sure 100%. Thanks. I'll post up any info I can when I try out some new cards.

Hi guys, I found a solution but it needs testing.
Steps:
1- Boot into windows, download GPU-Z and save the rom file (or create a "NVFLASH" usb image").
2- Rename the ROM to "VenID_DevID.ROM (i.e 10DE_1200.ROM).
3- Place it in "Extra" in Mac OS X.
4- In org.chameleon.boot.plist make sure of the following:
Code:
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>UseNvidiaROM</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>VBIOS</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
Reboot and voila.

* If anybody has the Gainward 2GB version please attach a copy of you IOReg.
* If anybody has DSDT please try the following 560 Ti patch and tell me the results:
Code:
                Device (GFX0)
                {
                    Name (_ADR, Zero)

* I want to enable the HD4000 and the discrete card how can I do that?

just noticed that my hdmi-out from the gtx560ti wasn't working with windows anymore (same issue with ML)..
could it related to the UEFI bios? I updated to it before installing OS X.

fortunately, I still can use the one from my integrated HD3000... with windows only, ML doesn't see the chip...

Hi guys, I found a solution but it needs testing.
Steps:
1- Boot into windows, download GPU-Z and save the rom file (or create a "NVFLASH" usb image").
2- In Mac OS X and in org.chameleon.boot.plist make sure of the following:
Code:
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>UseNvidiaROM</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>VBIOS</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
3-Rename the ROM file to "10DE_1200.rom" if your device ID is 0x1200.
Reboot and voila.

Save the ROM file to where exactly??

Put 10DE_1200.ROM in the "Extra" folder.
Make sure the name is corrct or problems may occur.

OK sounds good I will give it a try when I get a chance. Thanks!

UPDATE: Ok installed ROM file into Extra, and edited org.chameleon.boot.plist on backup drive (as an initial test), moved main monitor to the primary DVI port (closest to MoBo, the one that always loses signal on cold starts) and restarted.

First thing I noticed is the error message was not there. Worked fine, ran a couple quick tests (Novabench and Luxmark) to confirm didn't cause any issues. Shut down and restarted several times, all good, no sign of that error message. Working fine, in Novabench the initial slow start of the graphics test is gone, it starts fast and scores are way up (like 35% up). Luxmark Sala got a score of 959 which is about the same as it was before (more involved tests later, these were quick checks).

So shut it down, connected TV to second dvi port. Started it up, no error messages, primary monitor is the boot monitor, tv came up fine.

So now computer is off, the real test will be some cold starts, but so far looks really good!!

I'll keep you posted.
