Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I am using F22 and no issues.
Hello,
I have successfully built a functional Monterey machine using a Gigabyte z690 Aero D motherboard, i7-13900KF, and Radeon 6600XT, but I've tried everything I know to try and it will not wake after being in display sleep. It goes to sleep and Display says entering power saving mode, and this happens evenwhile using it.

Mine sleeps but cannot be woken up via keyboard or mouse, I need to use the power button to wake it up, also don't use the 10G network port but use the 2.5G network port if you want sleep/wake to work properly, map your USB properly. I used Hackintool to map mine and just enabled usbinjectall.kext and mapped.

@CaseySJ I am still facing this issue after I upgraded bios. Both F22, F23 are tested, same error. I also tried to start a fresh installation, same error.

Does anyone running on F22 or F23 able to upload their EFI?

Thanks in advance.

Some questions:
  1. Does the boot process hang or stop at this point?
  2. Which version of macOS?
  3. Can you post your EFI folder with serial numbers removed?
  4. Is “Above 4G Decoding” enabled? And the “IOMMU…” setting under it?

Solved! you rock!!! Thanks very much!
The issue is caused by: Re-Size BAR (I set -1 in my oc config)
I thought there was no Re-Size BAR option in F23. But once selected IOMMU option, this option appears at the bottom of IOMMU.
It is fixed by selecting Re-Size BAR disabled.

Maybe you can add this note to the first post.

Glad to hear it!

If you can post a screenshot of the BIOS settings, I can add a note to Post 1.

To capture screenshot in BIOS, we can insert USB flash disk (with EFI partition) and press F12. Screenshot will be in .BMP format so we'll need to convert to JPEG.

** BIOS F23 Additional Settings **

  • Above 4G DecodingEnabled
    • Vega 56/64 owners should try disabling this
  • Above 4G MMIO BIOS assignmentEnabled
    • Vega 56/64 owners should try disabling this
    • Then a new option will appear under it:
  • Re-Size BAR SupportEnabled
    • Enable this if using a supported GPU (AMD RX 6000 series)
    • Also set Booter → ResizeAppleGpuBars → 0 in config.plist
