Have you used the boot flags to get started. Also how much ram do you have installed

What boot flags?

I actually have very similar builds as you, what did you select in multi beast? thanks.

My Build: (roughly)
Processor. Core i5
Memory. Corsair Vengence 16GB DDR 1600
Motherboard. Gigabyte. GA-Z68XP-UD3
Graphics Card. GA-Radeon. HD-6870 1GB
SSD. Intel 320 160GB
HD. WD Caviar Blue 320GB
LG Blue Ray
Bluetooth. dongle that doesn't quite work yet
OSX 10.7.2

When The chimera boot screen comes up
Try typing in the following
"PCIRootUID=0"
At the boot screen just start typing. You will
See the line window show up after you type
Not before.
Try that if that doesn't work. Try
"GraphicsEnabler=No"
If that doesn't work let me know. I will post my .bootplst again that might help

Hi, My computer is now working. I realized that I did not put the DSDT files on the desktop. This tiny mistake costs me 3 hours of repeatedly installing OSX. But all is well, I think.

I'll post more when I figure out if this thing is truly working or not. Thanks man.

Awesome. Next.
iCloud. And app store.

I tried to use iCloud using the described method. However, it is not working. I think it has to do with the fact that I am using a wireless card to connect to the internet. Any ideas how to get around this?

It says that my Apple ID is valid, but it is not an iCloud account. (Yes, I double check, I do have iCloud, as I have it setup on my macbook pro.

btw, typing this message from my new Hackintosh :-D

Thanks

Here is the section on iCloud in my "User Builds" section
I hope this helps.
I know there have been some issues with wireless cards. there are some good articles if you google it.

"iCloud was another issue
you need to run a serial# generator
you can download the program here:
http://tools.inmac.org/
it's pretty self explanatory Just remember to select the right processor and a mating computer.
it will update the SMBios.plst in your extras folder.
now,
Open the folder "Extras" (If you do not have it Download Chimera and run it.)
in the extras folder there is a file named "org.chameleon.Boot.plist"
it will look like this:
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>npci=0x2000 darkwake=0</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Add This command
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
Now, it should look like this:
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>npci=0x2000 darkwake=0</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Go to your Network Preferences and delete your Ethernet connection. Reboot.
You will probably have to add the Ethernet connection again. Go to your Network preferences and click the + at the bottom. That got my system working.

I am up and running
1 ssd
3 HD's
2 monitors with no problems
I hope this helps others. Another Happy Hackintosher!!

I will be throwing Tony and Carbon Copy cloner a Donation!!

Hi Limabeancarson,

I appreciate your help. The method you described certainly worked for many. However, I actually found a post here that may be of benefit for all who are looking for a solution.

It requires you to install EFIStudio and create a Ethernet ID ---> details are in the post below.

http://www.osx86.net/10-7-lion/11315-ap ... ied-5.html

Perhaps by using this method, you can forgo the PCI rootUID = 1 issue with the video card that you were describing. Anyways, I'm very happy with my hacintosh now :)

I tried that solution and it did not work for me.
Thats one of the challenging things about building one of these things is that there is no "one way works for all" method. That is what makes this so fun/rewarding!

Happy Hackintoshing

hey guys,

i´m very interested in builing a new rig with the GA-z68xp-ud3 mainboard.

maybe you can tell me if the firewire-port will run on lion?!
it´s cause i would like to run a motu firewire audio interface on logic...

would be very nice !! :headbang:

cheers, tom

The FireWire port on mine works.
I'm not sure how the Motu will. If your just using this for home recording or personal use no problem. I run sound at my church and use FW audio interfaces all the time. I would not trust my Hackintosh in a professional environment even with my system being as stable as it is.
BTW. What Motu interface?
Good Luck.
