Hey everyone so this is my first time building a computer at all I had an imac growing up from my uncle and I am highly interested in music production I have been a musician since I was probably 9 and have had a lot of experience with logic pro x my guitarist has an actual imac he bought from our producer but I am not interested in that kind of pricetag and I am looking for a portable and powerful build for music production and a little bit of gaming (basically just league of legends :geek:). I have done a lot of research and I do have a very computer savvy friend but I figured you all will be much more knowledgeable on this  I have decided to go with a micro itx build  I have looked at many cases and the hardest part is finding the right sized case. I really like the idea of having my case right on my desk next to the monitor and other than I will be bringing this build with me for recording sessions I guess I just like the aesthetic of a small case. Before this I had no idea how to build a computer at all I have just been learning lol :beachball: but I can list here the specs I have been looking at and maybe you all can give me some pointers! I have not purchased anything yet and the build I have currently is looking to come out to a little over $1000 which is completely fine for me.

so for the mini deluxe build tonymac does not have a wifi card listed so I just went with the one for the other mini build

I chose the suggested motherboard even though he said the wifi would not work with yosemite

for the processor with my noob knowledge I basically just chose what was the obvious better

I basically don't know what these are for  but I got em saw some led ones in another build and thought that would be cool to have depending if I got one of the cases with the see through sides

I think I may be okay to start with one ssd for now

For the power supply the one he has listed I think will work with this but I am not sure if it will fit every case

So as for the gpu I was going to try and buy the GTX 970 but that thing is like almost $400 and I don't know if it is overkill or not for what I am intending to do with this build so I went with this

Now comes the confusing difficult decision :banghead: THE CASE! Now I have looked at multiple different shapes and sizes for a nice mini itx case and I have no doubt I can make even the smallest do what I need it to do but I just don't know how to go about doing it so here is the different cases I have looked at maybe you can help me out here lol.

First is the suggested case for the build

The bitfenix mini itx, now I am really biased on aesthetic of a case and this one is nice but I prefer the white one I just think it looks cooler but I have watched some reviews on this case and it seems like it's not the best choice but it's definitely not the worst and I am definitely leaning more towards the aluminum finish cases.

This next case is the Raijintek Aluminum Series Metis and this is definitely looking more up my alley with the size and simple design and aluminum finish now the only problem is it is very small and I am not sure if this build will work with it or not.

Next is the NCASE M1 which is looking along the lines as the Metis but a large difference in price this being more than $100 more than the metis but it is looking to be one of the best designed mini itx cases. I am not sure which is smaller of the two.

It really means a lot to me for your guys input I am really trying to do this right and have a quality build thank you all so much for your time I know this is a lengthy post  I am open to any suggestions for this build so don't hold back if you think their is something better for me than list that stuff :D

If your main purposes are audio production and League of Legends you don't need a discreet graphics card. The HD4600 in the current i7 processors should be sufficient. You could save yourself a few dollars and watts if you went with an i7-4790S CPU instead. I'd also get a bigger SSD. Those audio files will fill up your drive fast.

I like that Raijintek case.

Yea I was curious about if that was a factor with the board but that guide seems very confusing lol

Would a micro atx board fit in these cases would that have more than one slot or do you think it is possible for me to use that guide to acquire wifi from the board

No, those cases are all mini-itx so they would not hold the micro-atx board. You could look
at the Aerocool DS Cube. I've posted about this in deals of the day section recently. You
can also get wifi from the half mini pci-e slot if you use a compatible card.
