First, let me thank all of you for your contributions to this wonderful website. The blogs, tutorials and user-forums here have been indispensable to me while building my "perfect" x86 machine.

I've been waiting and waiting for Apple to significantly update the Mac Pro, but when they failed to deliver a viable option for my workflow, I began seeking an alternative solution, which lead me here to TonyMacx86. This system was built to be used in the offline editing of long-form documentary and docu-reality television programming. I currently have Avid Media Composer 5.5.3 and Adobe CS Master Collection 5.5 running smoothly on this rig.

After flashing the BIOS of z77x-ud5h to F8 and following Tony's instructions here http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html , I'm blown away by how stable this system appears to be. I performed some extensive stress test over the weekend with Adobe CS 5.5 and Avid Media Composer 5.5.3 and the thing is rock solid. I wouldn't hesitate having a client sit in on a session. In fact, I'm putting my main Mac Pro workstation up for sale now that I'm convinced this Hack Pro can be used as my primary workhorse.

Again, I sincerely thank the people of these forums for providing such great resources. I can't believe I might never have to buy a canned workstation again! That's an amazing thing!
