Finder app can't be opened

In OS X 10.8.2, I am getting an error message - The application can't be found - when attempting to open finder from the dock and - The application "Finder.app" can't be opened -10810 - when trying to open Finder from spotlight. In addition, Time Machine is not opening either using the dock or spotlight though no error messages are being received. All other apps appear to be running without problems. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can you open Finder at all?
I'd recommend you to use Onyx to reset the launch services

Also, could you post your Console log?

No, I can't open finder at all. It appears to have somehow been deleted.

Used the USB Drive that was used to originally install ML to access the Restore from Time Machine option. While it did take several hours to restore, it worked like a charm.
