Hi!
I have a newly installed my first Hackintosh,
first time on forum, first time ever building a computer.

Everything is working fine except
HDMI audio and external HDD not showing up.
Also i have a problem with F1 and F2 function keys, adjusting brightness works, but the screen flashes black for a moment on each press.

external HDD:
- Tried different usb ports
- Doesn´t show up in disk utility or "diskutil list" in terminal
- Tried installing usb "drivers" from multibeast

OSX version 10.13.4

Hardware:
MB: Gigabyte z370 Gaming Aorus 7
RAM: 64 gb Corsair Vengeance 3300 mhz DDR4 CL16
CPU: 5.0 ghz (OC) intel i7 8700k
STORAGE: 1tb 850 evo SSD
GPU: MSI 1080 ti gaming X
THUNDERBOLT 3: Alpine ridge card
Bluetooth and Wifi: Broadcom PCI-e card
Monitor: Thunderbolt display 27" 2560x1440

(Monitor is connected through Nvidia gpu > Displayport > Alpine ridge card > TB3 to TB2)

The HDDs in question:
2 x 4tb Seagate HDD

Oh, and also here is the sketches and result of the actual Hackintosh if anyone is interested:

2 questions. This is your first build ever ? You've never built a PC ever before this ?
What are you using this build for ?

Hi! I'm a design student, and freelance designer. Been wanting to do more 3D and After effects stuff. Previously i had an iMac, but it struggled on graphics heavy tasks. Also i wanted to be able to play some games once in a while.

Edit: Yes, my first build ever. Only have previous experience with repairing red ring on my Xbox and replaced my iMac HDD and broken iMac screen, plus 3-4 iPhone screens and cleaned Macbook of dust in the past.

Hello.

For your HDMI audio problem, try putting the:

FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext

... into your EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other folder.

This works for me, but I have an AMD card. I hope it works for Nvidia too.

As for the USB problem with an external HDD, that might be due to the need for the port-limit patch. Have you created your own SSDT to define the USB port types - USB 3, USB 2 etc ? Or are you using the port-limit removal patch instead?

Can't help with the brightness F-keys. I've never had a DP monitor and they have never worked for me!

:)

P.S - great illustrations by the way

Thanks, ill try that :)

Edit: I have this patch:
name: AppleUSBXHCIPCI
find: 837D8C10
replace: 837D8C1B
comment: change 15 port limit to 24
Matchos: 10.13.x

I have not created my own SSDT to define usb, how do i do this?

Right now i have
- 2x usb 3.0 extender cables from motherbaord
- Usb 3.0 mb header to 2x usb 3
(All ports working on windows, with hdd)

I tried using "FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext", but now my audio isn´t working at all. No audio outputs are showing.

Thanks! Now HDD works! :)

Still have to figure out HDMI audio. But then i'm pretty much satisfied :D

Actually, thinking about it, I might have given you bad info re that kext. It is for Intel iGPU audio routing after all. With my AMD GPU using the Lilu/Whatevergreen kext pair is what provides HDMI audio out via the RX560 and monitor. With you having a Nvidia card I guess it's down to Nvidia's web-drivers? Sorry.

However, glad you sorted the USB problem. @RehabMan is right, you should define your own SSDT for your motherboard ports. There are two great guides here, @RehabMan 's linked to above, and @ammulder 's : Section 7.2 Getting it right - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/10-11-0-10-11-3-skylake-starter-guide.179221/

It's fiddly but easy enough
