Updating from OSX Mavericks

The install for El Capitan appeared to work fine, however whenever I try to boot into the drive I updated, I get a brief look at a loading bar beneath the apple logo, then the machine restarts. Happens every single time.

If I boot using safe mode I get the following:

Any ideas?

Normally a failure to load the kernel cache means you don't have the RtVariables for El Capitan in your config.plist. But the one you posted has them. Are you sure that's the one your system is using?

You can try boot without caches (hit space bar at the Clover menu) to see if they will just rebuild on their own. If that still gives you the cache error, we need to confirm SIP is really disabled. Did you install legacy or UEFI?

I installed UEFI.

On the drive I installed to, the config.plist files at root and at EFI/CLOVER are identical and both have RtVariables as per my original post. Will try to boot without cache now.

When I attempt to boot without Caches I get this:

Same error as me, Z77-DS3H with GTX 780 on EFI upgraded from Yosemite using Clover most recent release. Any ideas?

bdwhitehead23, please add your specific motherboard model to the system information on the left. When trying to see patterns in who's having the same issues, we really need quick access to all that.

I'm sorry, when you say this, do you mean the config.plist files at /config.plist and /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist on your system partition? Or are you looking at any files on the EFI partition?

Just for the record, if you boot from the install USB but select Boot to OS X from YourSystemDrive do you get the same error?

I'm talking about my system drive, although the same is also true of my EFI partition. When I boot from the USB and then try to run my system drive the exact same thing happens.

I can boot via clover on the system drive to then run the USB as normal.

If you are booting UEFI, then you should ignore any /EFI folder or contents or config or config.plist files on the system partition. You should only be looking at the EFI partition. If BreBo's suggestion doesn't help, please post your config.plist from your EFI Partition /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist

If you boot from a USB, your system drive EFI partition is ignored, and the USB drive's EFI partition is used instead. So we would have to troubleshoot based on the USB EFI partition instead of the system drive EFI partition if you want to look at booting from the USB. You can post the config.plist from your USB EFI partition too if you like, just identify which is which.

So having tried all of the above and failing, I decided to format the system drive and do a clean install (rather than try and update my old Mavericks hack). It worked flawlessly, following the standard Unibeast El Capitan installation guide. However, thank you very much to ammulder and BreBo for your kind help and insightful support.
