Dual Xeon E5-2670 with Asrock EP2C602, Dual Boot Hackintosh with Win7Pro or Win10Pro

I finally solved High Sierra on the EP2C602. I am updating my guide accordingly. The solution is adding a Clover DSDT patch to rename CUU0, CUU1, CUU2, and CUU3 from your DSDT so that they don't cause KP's.

@teamawesome, newest Intel CPU microcodes (Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge) with Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities fixes (really one of Spectre variant)? Does your UEFI Shell have bcfg command. I requested ASRock new UEFI for EP2C602-4L/D16 with NVME boot support. Send with missing UEFI Shell bcfg command and maybe some more commands. Did you special requested ASRock UEFI with Intel CPU microcodes update! :problem: Do you have problem described http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3211?

Thanks.

Unfortunately I did my testing reaaalllyyyy late last night and spaced on testing the UEFI commands. To be continued...

@Coool I finally got around to using the UEFI Shell. Its all !$!%#% up. I tested both 1.80 and 1.89. Have you opened a support ticket? I can't manually edit bcfg and also the BIOS doesn't see my SSD as a UEFI bootable drive. However, I can manually launch Clover without issue from within the shell (fs1:\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI). So weird.

@teamawesome. I send e-mail to Europe (Netherlands) support about bcfg issue some time ago. No replay. I think ASucks support (works students ) is Great Again. I don't want to talk about question I asked about LRDIMM long time ago. If you need to add boot record to UEFI NVRAM, use EFI\CLOVER\tools\Shell64U.efi. You will find bcfg command. But anyway, fix is needed. I want to know from there originally AMI UEFI Shell comes from (source).

Hi there.

I'm looking to build a system based on the ASRock EPC602D8A (single socket version based on the same C602 chipset)

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...157523&cm_re=epc602d8a-_-13-157-523-_-Product

Aside from specific edits for DSDT/SSDT and config.plist, I assume much of this guide would be directly applicable, But any feedback would be appreciated.

I've bought an E5-2680 v2. I'll start with 16GB Samsung ECC PC12800R (1600MHz) (2x8GB) and update when I have a chance (to 4x8GB for quad-channel support)

Thanks
M :)

Hello Friend mikeonmac

E5-2680 v2 is design to work with paired CPUs , it is not for single socket . You might go with Intel Xeon E5-1680 v2.
I bought my RAM from a guy on ebay - Japan . Excellent price

The E5-2680 v2 will work just fine in a dual or single socket configuration. It will have more cores but a slower frequency compared to the E5-1680 v2. Just because a CPU is dual socket capable doesn't mean it must be used with two CPU's.

Everything in this guide should work with the following exceptions:
  • Your board has a different Marvell chipset. I lack knowledge on if it will work in macOS.
  • BIOS configuration will be different.
  • Your board has different NIC's. Search on the forums for Intel i210 support.
  • Your board has onboard audio. Search for support for the ALC892 chipset.
  • Your board has USB 3.0. Follow the USBInjectAll guides.

Hello everyone!

I followed the recent, really good @teamawesome's guide to do a clean install of High Sierra (13.4). And as I have a Sandy Bridge the settings for CPU PM don't seem to be optimal (I created a custom ssdt following the guide)
I was wondering if maybe @Rysiu you would know how to work this out. Here is my EFI partition just in case…

I don’t have a copy of the 1.89 BIOS you need, but you can easily mod the 1.80 BIOS to add the necessary OPROM to support NVMe booting.
