Thanks for the help and suggestions.

I've tried multi beast 4.5.2 using:
-ALC8xxHDA
-AppleHDA Rollback
-ALC898 (Non-DSDT)

Audio still doesn't work. However, under audio its listed as "Audio ID 892". I know I opted for 898 though. Not sure why it shows up as 892. Is there a way to manually wipe the audio settings and try again. Right now I am using USB audio and it works but I would rather get the motherboard audio working.

I also seem to be having a problem with Flash video not playing. I wonder if it has anything to do with the audio issue.

Octavean, what motherboard are you using? is it the GA-P35C-DS3R like in your specs?

No sorry that is an old system that I am no longer using.

The system in question has the following configuration:

Intel Core i7 3930K
Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboar
24GB DDR3 (combo of G.Skill / Corsair kits)
Corsair Force Series 3 SSD 120GB
8800GTS 640MB (will likely replace with HD 6870)
Asus BD / DVD combo drive
Antec P180 case
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus (RR-ACCY-2011-R1 Intel LGA 2011 Retention Bracket)
Antec EarthWatts 650W Green PSU
Logitech S-150 1.2 Watts 2.0 Digital USB Speakers
eVGA UV+ USB video adaptor
Asus VE278Q Black 27” LED backlight display (on 8800GTS)
Viewsonic VX2235wm 22” LCD (on 8800GTS)
Gem 19” LCD (on eVGA UV+)

Native powermanagement seems pretty far fetched now for socket 2011. Apple stealth launched a "new" mac pro today. Still on the same hardware except a minor processor upgrade :(

TopNotch 2011 Machine

Hey guys,

i would like to build a Top Notch 2011 Setup, but i am a lil bit confused that nearly nobody use Gigabyte Mainboards..?

Anyway, this is the Wishlist:

Intel i7 3930K or Xeon E5-1650
Gigabyte X79-UD5
64 GB Corsair XMS3 CL9
ATI Radeon 6850
2x Crucial M4 512GB SSD with RAID0
3x 2TB WD Caviar Black
Seasonic 860 Watt Platinum PSU

I know that the sleep function doesnt work yet for s2011, but its for me not important, just need to be rock-solid.

Did u guys see any trouble in the Setup?

I was able to get Lion installed on my ASuS P9X79 Deluxe. Doesn't recognize the CPU. I have no working sound or wifi yet. The network cards and bluetooth worked. I just used the kexts from unibeast to get the network cards working.

:clap:Here everything works exception audio over HDMI and wireless (WiFi) :lolno:

This is the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext from the MBP 2012 updater. I can boot with it with no problems. I do have an Ivy Bridge CPU, though.
