Build Components:
- GA-B75M-D3P
I choose this board over the B75M-D3P because it is full supported and because i need the optical S/PDIF for my Logitech Z-5500. Ethernet works out of the box, and sound is supported in MultiBeast 5.1.3. - Audio: Working , Front Headphone port working (can not mute), front Line-in port working , Rear Line-Out works and Line-in also.
- Display HD4000: Working, DVI works out of the box, HDMI works but requires EFI string in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, VGA not working, Dual Display works with DVI+HDMI.
- USB3: is properly detected in ML 10.8
- Sleep/Wake: Work out of the box.
- Marvell 88SE9172 chip SATA3 ports: Working with MultiBeast 5.1.3 3rd Party SATA, that means that i have 3xSATA3 and 5xSATA2 ports
- 5.1 DD/DTS Audio(ALC887): Works with XBMC (just need to set up XBMC for 5.1) over optical S/PDIF. Big thanx to toleda for leading me on the right track.
Installing Mountain Lion:
I have followed Moarfish' Build from the Golden Builds section, and everything went without problems.
The process is:
1. BIOS Set SATA to Run AHCI
2. BIOS Set Extreme Memory Profile to Profile 1 to let the ram run at 1600MHz
3. BIOS, make sure the internal Graphic memory is set to 64M
4. Run Unibeast 1.5 on my App Store Mountain Lion 10.8
5. Install Mountain Lion from the USB
6. Boot the new Mountain Lion Volume from the USB
7. Download the 10.8.2 Combo Updater from Apple Web Site, Install it. Don't Reboot yet.
8. Run Multibeast 5.1.1.
9. Reboot, remove USB, boot from Harddisk
MultiBeast 5.1.3 configuration
For troubleshooting and more info visit Moarfish' Build on the link bellow. (i don't want to copy everything from his build, as i followed his instructions and thats why all the credits go to him)
So i want to thank Moarfish for the great guide and build example, toleda for helping me solve the DD/DTS over SPDIF problem, and tonymacx86 forum users who helped me out to give advice for choosing and buying the components.
