hi

thx a lot for all your info,
some questions:

what´s your bios version?
did you install win 7 before osx?
can you boot with your installed bootloader in booth systems?
can you use booth intel hd4000 and geforce gt640 or did you disable hd4000 for use of geforce?
also can you use booth lan ports?

i have same cpu, mobo, 16gb ram, same wifi, 120gb samsung ssd for osx, old sata 500gb currently for win7

i´m running 10.6.7 with some issues,
want to do a clean install of ml
system should run in the end ml and win 7

all the best,
d4m

Did you need or use a DSDT file? If you did use the DSDT file where did you get it? Thanks

I understand the concept of booting the system from different drives; but I not sure how booting Win 7 will work if the BIOS has been changed to boot OS X. When you want to run Win7 do you also have to change the BIOS? Thanks.

finally i got it

geforce gtx 285 needs GraphicsEnabler=Yes,
didn´t work at all during install, did the install with integrated hd4000.

in system profiler, the z77 chipset for sata is shown as unknown ahci standart controller, but working.
i currently have no speakers, so can´t test sound.
usb is shown as 3.0 and when copying from usb stick really fast ( faster then 2.0) so i think it works.
wifi card works oob.

edit:
dualboot works fine with integrated chimera boot loader, you can choose if you want to boot to ml or win7.
i installed win7 before and had the hd disconnected during ml install.
the bootloader will show you all bootable devices.

only bad thing, some programs don´t work in ml anymore or need to be updated

thx a lot for all the great info, guides and tools to everyone who developed this stuff :headbang:

thx,
d4m

Sorry for the delay, I am incredible busy these days!
you asked 5 questions:
1) Bios F8, I uploaded it before starting installing the system.
2) I instaled Windows 8 in another SSD before, but I disconected it before starting the Macos installation. After I finish I connected it back.
3) yes you can, but I use the bios boot option (F12), its easier and faster.
4) I left my HD4000 enabled! Even before the installation.
5) yes, both lan ports are working.

If you want to ask something else send me an email, [email protected].

Regards,

@iuriosta77

thx for your reply

some things would be interesting:
could you post all your mobo settings different from F7 standart settings, or maybe screenshots?
did you plug your ssd with ml on the marvel sata port or on the z77 port?

the geforce gtx285 i use has native support in osx,
but it didn´t work during install, also i need GraphicsEnabler=Yes,
which is not normal for Geforce Cards ( compared to the 400 and newer series)

i also used for RAM Profile 1 to get more speed out of them,
as i read on another post.

all the best,
d4m

Hi,
I'm interested in "Iogear GBU521 - Bluetooth USB Adapter".
Does this dongle work on BIOS MENU, and UniBeast boot menu with OOB?

Regards,
Ai

Looks great! Whats your experiences with the GT 640? Can it run some basic games (ie. TF2), basic 3D modelling, dual display etc? Better than the integrated graphics?

Does the Bluetooth works? my bluetooth (Asus) doesn't work on the same build.

Hello, great guide to follow!

Is it necessary to install a graphic card if it is hooked up directly by HDMI to an projector? The reason I ask is that I would be using it for media server, (know it might be an overkill) and as a htpc. I will also be using it to edit final cut pro projects, my current system is an 2007 MacBook Pro that takes forever with video projects. If I do need to have the graphic card, which would be the best choice editing Final Cut Pro projects?

Thanks in advance.
