Building Customac GA-H87-D3H...A few questions..Kernel panic

Hi folks.
building my 3rd Hackintosh.

I am using the EXACT recommended Customac build hardware: ( i just ordered)
Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H
i5 4430
Corsair 8gb

I notice there is no DSDT for these new motherboards. Also, I have Zero experience with UEFI Bios.

I read the latest guide for installing Mavericks and UniBeast, but there are no details regarding Easy Beast, DSDT or DSDT free.

Can someone recommend the steps for a basic approved motherboard with integrated graphics?

For example, any alternate flags needed, or what exactly do I select when running Multibeast? With my older Gigabyte, I used to select the Macman Realtek NIC and Audio, with my DSDT and I was good to go....that was a few years ago.....

Thanks!
Jim

Hi,

First of all check your UEFI BIOS. Load the defaults and change SATA to AHCI and the Memory for your integrated GFX to 64MB (you can change that after installation).

On Startup you'll probably need GraphicsEnabler=Yes as boot flag, as you are using internal Graphics (HD4600 when i'm right). In Multibeast select Quickstart, then DSDT-Free, as your Board doesn't need an DSDT. Additional options you'll need are:

Drivers/Audio/without DSDT/ Realtec ALC892
Drivers/Network/Intel - hnak's AppleIntelE100E v2.5.4d
Customize/Boot Options/GraphicsEnabler=Yes

After that you're good to go ;)

Hey Jim,

I just set up my new Hackintosh with the same motherboard

Hackintosh Pro
Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H
i5-4430 LGA1150
On Board Graphics
Vengeance - 16GB (2x8GB) RAM
Samsung SSD - 840 EVO - 120GB

I tried installing Mountain Lion and it didn't like that.
So I tried with Mavericks and it worked fine

ALL I had to change in the BIOS was:
VT-d -> Disabled
XHCI Mode -> Disabled

No flags needed, I was surprised.

After install I used Multibeast 6.0.0
Set up with Default Easy Beast
No DSDT needed
Just added the audio - without DSDT - ALC892
and the network - Intel - hank's AppleIntelE1000e v2.5.4d
didn't have to use any multi beast graphics settings
Setup as a Mac Pro 3.5

Hope this helps.

Building Customac GA-H87-D3H...A few questions..Kernel Panic

Ok folks,
what does this kernel panic mean. I was able to install Mavericks using Unibeast, but attempting to boot yields this screen:

I think I might know what my problem is. First of all I could not get video out of the HDMI port. I was running BIOS version 3, so I just flashed to version 5 and the HDMI video out works with onboard gfx.

But the real issue, I believe, is I am using my same solid state drive from my previous Hack build. This was running mountain lion with a different Gigabyte MB, memory and PCI Nvidia graphics card.

When I installed mavericks from Unibeast, I did not wipe and reformat the drive, I just attempted to install over the existing ML install from my old hardware.
I am going to try this install again from scratch later doing ALL the steps in the guide (wiping the SSD clean).

Does this sound like the issue?!

Update! After formatting the drive and doing a clean install, the machine is working fine!

I'm getting very different results to yours with a very similar setup...

Hardware:
GA-H87-DH3
Intel i3 4130T
8Gb RAM
Corsair 120Gb SSD

Installed with Unibeast fine, boots into OSX ok.

Issues I encounter are thus;

Intel HD4600 not recognised.
Installing anything from Multibeast stops onboard networking from functioning.

Did you experience these issues? I can't work out what I'm doing wrong, I'm new to all this though admittedly!

Is there any way that you might have selected 'legacy USB Support' when you created the UniBeast flash drive? See here step 14:

I saw somewhere that the i3 didn't work so well with hackintoshes. So I went with the i5.. A bit more money but it was worth it.

An i5 might be better for a hardcore gaming/ home video editing, even for Garageband. The truth is the i3 will handle it all too just not quite as fast. For many the i3 is a fantastic option.
