Yikes! Thanks for the advice. Guess I'll start counting my pennies.

It is NOT true that the 660 doesn't work. It works just fine and all it requires is the installation of the new Nvidia drivers. See this thread for details: http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/73081-testing-thread-geforce-gtx-660-a.html

The thread is very quiet now, mainly because everyone with a 660 seems to be doing very well with it.

My mini build (GA-H77N-wifi, Intel Core i5-3570k, no video card) works great, but after the first day will no longer sleep, either by itself or with a sleep command. What happens is that the screen goes white and the computer continues to run. A mouse click brings the screen back to life.

I've tried various darkwake states with no success. Please Sleep does not work either...same result.

Looking at the Console shows this each time I call for sleep:

I don't think Gigabyte did a good work on Z77 or H77 itx MB design. Especially for Hackintosh.

First of all: no display port. That will limit you to 1920x1200 maximum. But for a Mac, I prefer big screen.
2: Two NICs on both Z77 and H77? Who need two NICs for a Mac Mini? For such small size computer, that's a waste.
3: Intel wifi card, not even DSDT fix to make it work. You had to replace it.

So, other than no patch for CPU Power Management, what else make it a official CustMac Mini's choice? Will speedstep work in DSDT free setup? Will everything work in DSDT free setup?

I'm currently assembling the parts for my first hack build and have the same question (please let me know if it's been answered somewhere else). A second part to the question is: will the fan that comes standard with the i5-3570k fit in that case or do I need to use a smaller fan?

However, I ran into an issue after installing Multibeast. I get a black screen unless I disable the graphics enabler. Has anyone else had that issue?

I just installed everything tonight and it seems to work fine.


However, I ran into an issue after installing Multibeast. I get a black screen unless I disable the graphics enabler. Has anyone else had that issue?

I'm not sure what caused it, maybe a piece of trash or just a poor connection. But disconnecting the monitor and plugging it back in, fixed this issue.

anyone have a recommendation for a mini PCIe wireless card that works out of the box? I would like to leave the PCI express slot open for a graphics card later; wireless is a must.
