Hi guys, i have Laptop with GTX 1070 + Sierra 10.12.4 + installed nvidia web driver. It works good, but I don't see brightness slider on Display Preference and sleep not working (only the Display off, CPU is still active because im not see LID blinking). I think it because Nvidia Web Driver build specifically for desktop, not for laptop. I already use ACPIBacklight.kext, IntelBacklight.kext and AppleBacklightInjector.kext. but RehabMan said its for Intel Graphics not Nvidia Graphics.

I cant use Integrated Graphic since it doesn't support Optimus. Thats why i created this thread

-- EDIT --
Sleep working now with patch:
- Skylake instant-wake DSDT Patch from https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch . See "instant wake" guide here. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-patching-laptop-dsdt-ssdts.152573/
- Native CPU Power Management. guide here https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-native-power-management-for-laptops.175801/

To get sleep working, you need working power management. See here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-native-power-management-for-laptops.175801/

I already use that patch. And use AppleIntelInfo.kext to see it works or not. Still cant sleep, only display off
What is with IGPU power management?

You will need to do some research (google) on how to enable backlight control on Nvidia.
Or wait for someone to figure it out and write a detailed guide here (if that ever happens...)

hi i have similar laptop with 6700k + 1070(f5 tornado). for brightness i use brightness slider its not native but works good.

sleep issue is probably because of usb and not nvidia, my laptop goes to sleep fine if i dont have usbinjectallkext but thn my 2 usb ports, camera, bluetooth dont works. but when these works it dont go to sleep completely.

See "instant wake" in ACPI patching guide.

Also, USBInjectAll guide:

thnx buddy!!, i fix it with the quoted usbinject guide only, native managemetn is working oob for me on skylake with clover but i did apply instant-wake from your guide too, my sleep is working perfect, only thing remain is brightness but that seems web driver issue since there is no brightness slider in display pref.

also my internal laptop's lcd is detected as a exernal monitor since system pref showing connection type : displayport, maybe brightness is tied with this issue.

@safar46 - can u post your display setting screen? does it shows a laptop or a monitor picture?

@RehabMan - can you check my ddst please, i diassembled it using the extra refs.txt in the guide yet it still warn about 4 unresolve issues. note that i did a couple of patch on ddst too, like simulate windows 8, skylake usb 3 6x0d wake issue and rename dsm to xsm i think. DSDT boots fine, im just not sure if those 4 unresolve issues will cause any prob in future.

edit: nightshift worked anytime before these fixes but now it only works after 1st sleep. doesnt works before can be activated anytime after atleast 1 sleep. doesnt bother me tho. for brightness i use Brightness slider from app store. it seems to dim lcd, doesnt seems native brightness tho but works well until a proper fix.

Mine like yours for sys pref display. Yeah its because Nvidia Web Driver issue..

My sleep working too after patching Native CPU Management use ssdtPRgen.sh from Piker Alpha and Skylake instant-wake patch!.

Then after brightness control this is my perfect hackintosh on laptops ever xD. I have working: detected NVMe SSD (Piker Alpha patch), wifi and bluetooth (NGFF bcm94532z), vga, keyboard + backlight (use AsusNBFNKeys.kext), Touchpad ELAN1200 (VoodooI2C.kext), all USB 2.0/3.0 (3.0 with 3.0 speed too), sleep. but not tested Ethernet, DisplayPort and HDMI because I not use that features. Almost perfect xD
