Hello all!

I'm fairly new to the hackintosh world and am hoping you all can help me with a problem I'm having with my bluetooth. First, here are the system specs:

- Intel Core i5-3570K (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007SZ0E1K/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI Motherboard (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009JDTWH6/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- G.SKILL Sniper Low Voltage Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231461)
- Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-650 650W PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182132)
- SAMSUNG 840 Series 120GB SSD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147185)
- IOGear GBU521 Bluetooth Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007GFX0PY/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- Anker Ultra Slim Bluetooth Keyboard (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096M8VR2/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- Gigabyte GM-M7700B Noble Black Compact mouse (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826146013)

(I replaced the built in wifi/bluetooth chip on the motherboard with a wifi chip that works natively in the Mac OS...hence the bluetooth dongle)

Here's what is going on. My UniBeast, if memory serves, installs version 10.8.3 of Mountain Lion. After upgrading to 10.8.5, I had some initial issues connecting my bluetooth mouse and keyboard, but eventually they connected and things seemed okay. However, after a few weeks, the peripherals lost connection and I could not get them to reconnect. So I reinstalled the OS, thinking something had probably changed. After upgrading back to 10.8.5 everything seemed fine....for 1 day. Then I lost connection again and couldn't re-establish. Now, I've reinstalled, but NOT upgraded, and I can't get the devices to pair. They can connect (it'll show connected in the bluetooth manager, but will never finish pairing so they won't work). I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do.

I've poked around on the internet for a few days and have not managed to find anything that has worked. Do any of you have any ideas? If you need me to pull some other data on the system, let me know.

Did you end up finding a solution? It seems like I'm starting to encounter the same problem, my bluetooth has been working fine for months and now all of a sudden it continually says fail to pair w/ my magic mouse and bluetooth keyboard. Its weird because they both work with my other computer (non-Hackintosh).

Have a look at this thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/112984-mavericks-installed-but-bluetooth-issue.html and try either the method I suggested or the the method suggested by toleda.

additionally if you are having pairing issues remove all the bluetooth devices before rebooting and add them again afterwards (assuming you have USB devices to use until you activate bluetooth ones).

I just did a fresh install of 10.9 using a GA-H87N-WIFI motherboard and I couldn't get the IOGEAR GBU521 Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter to work. I tried everything and got so frustrated I removed the Intel 7260HMW Mini PCI Express Adapter from the motherboard.

Bluetooth Explorer showed it as active and I figured the system was trying to use the 7260HMW instead of the GBU521

This fixed it and now my IOGEAR GBU521 works!!!!

All you have to do is remove the one screw holding in the 7260HMW and pop off the two antennas.

Confirmed! Removed Intel 8260NGW from GA-H170N-WIFI and IOGEAR GBU521 start works ! (MacOS 10.11.6)

Thank you for solution !
