Asus X299 - Support

To be clear, I attempted to boot 10.14.6 with the RTC0 file and it did not boot at all, with BIOS 2002. I am not clear on which file I need for the bios upgrade. I will upgrade the BIOS now to 3203 and see if it boots with only the RTC0 file. I look forward to your EFI! Thanks

1. Flash to 3203 that I provided with the Apple logo (or get it from ASUS website without the logo)
2. Clear CMOS (CLR_CMOS on mobo)
3. Set up your BIOS settings again and make sure Above 4G is enabled.
4. Throw my EFI onto a USB flash disk
5. Edit the config.plist and add your current serial and UUID that you generated into PlatformInfo
6. Boot into the flash disk (F8 at BIOS menu)

Please give me about 30 mins and I will upload the latest EFI from my system. Also it's best to have a second computer (like a laptop) for troubleshooting, or at least Windows so you can boot into it and modify your EFI partition if your main system goes down.

EDIT: @r2tincan look at this post for the EFI. It should work with Mojave (Haven't personally tested). If it doesn't work try the AWAC method instead of RTC0 which is what I'm using.

IZO1's EFI w/ OpenCore 0.6.1 on ASUS SAGE/10G & i9-9980XE for Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021).

Please look at the Configuration.pdf for my PCIe slot usage and other details. You can modify to your liking.
As always, throw it on a USB Stick's EFI partition and booth from that (F8) to test further and add upon this configuration if necessary for your own system.

In addition, I am now using RadeonBoost.kext in this EFI, which means you get higher scores and sometimes higher performance on Radeon VII, RX580 and some other AMD cards. You can disable that kext if necessary.

Also I am posting in this thread because it seems to be active and I didn't post in the Big Sur thread because I haven't personally done any tests with Big Sur. I will post an updated version there if I ever do decide to keep Hackintoshing and moving to Big Sur. :)

Thanks, will do. For reference, this is the error I'm getting when trying to boot 3203 with the RTC0.

I removed the RAID controller completely and it still would not boot. I just put it back in, because it contains the NVME drives for Windows.

the micromat kext seems to be related to a usb/firewire diagnostic tool?

are you still on clover? I can’t help because I’m exclusively on OC for a while now.

Honestly I suggest a fresh install of Catalina and using my efi as a starter.

or roll back to 2002 and stick to Mojave until you can upgrade.

there’s just too many areas this problem could have occurred and I can’t help unless the system is tidy.

I can't upgrade to Catalina due to the lack of app support. I do not think Kext files should be causing boot problems because I have not changed anything on my mac partition, only my BIOS and adding that .aml file. I will attempt to boot with your open core EFI! Thanks

If I need to switch card slots on your EFI, can I do that? How? My Radeon is in slot 5 because its 2x slots wide and I have a thunderbolt card installed.

Does this include the Titan Ridge adapter by chance....? :D

Thank you for posting this. I transfered onto a USB, open core booted the bootloader but would not enter MacOS.

I get OCB Security Violation.

The only thing I changed was my type to iMacPro (since I'm on mojave), serial number, motherboard serial, and my UUID.
