Hi there. I want to upgrade my system to the ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe II X299 and probably the i9 9940x. If I'm not going to overclock this system, it looks as though my existing Noctua D15s is compatible as long as I don't go nuts with the overclock. FWIW, I'm using a big Fractal Define R6 case, and I have two Noctua 140mm fans at the front, and one at the back of the case. I try to keep the speeds in-sync at whatever temperature. I'd be keeping the Seasonic Titanium 1KW and the Sapphire Pulse RX-580, and the RAM seems compatible. Is anyone using a similar setup that I have planned?

or any other 128GB RAM guy :)

please, would you be so kind to write the exact 128 GB RAM modules name you are using with ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe II?
Just I am not able to find anything in the store from the Asus QVL list (which is quite old) and I don't want to buy something wrong, I am not really an expert :)

THANK YOU!

@pipoland, FYI: for X299 TUF Mark 1, I used 32GB modules. (2x for now, more arriving soon.) The system was not booting at all, but I simply had to upgrade BIOS to the newest via USB flashback, and boot got fixed.
Maybe that's the case as well. (X299 used to support 64/128GB RAM max depending on CPU, and it was increased afterward.)

Questions for X299 Deluxe II people: which BIOS are you on? Do you use emuvariable efi? Which aptio fix are you using? Do you get run time error at boot? I am using aptiofix3 with emuvaraible, and I get runtime error every few boots. Once it has booted, it is fine. I am on latest bios. as of december 2019.

Anyone hot plug Thunderbolt works?

Thanks.

I am using AptiomemoryFix.efi with no Emuvariable on the last BIOS release and everything work fine. No TB3 Hotplug yet.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm curious about your TB3 situation. Did you follow the @kgp guide? TB3 hot swap still doesn't work? I'm debating between the Designare and a Deluxe II or X299 Master motherboard + a Titan Ridge adapter PCIe card.

Has there been any updates on this? I have followed @kgp guide with other guides until I was able to get the Prime Deluxe II working pretty flawless. System specs: 9940x / x299 Prime Deluxe ii / Radeon Vii / 128gb 3200mhz Gskill / nvme 500gb 970 evo. Everything works except no matter what I do I can't get 5G working or Thunderbolt to work. I can confirm they work as usb-c 3.1 But there ais nothing showing in system report. I have dropped in the SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml with no luck. I have attached my EFI if anyone could look at it and see what I have done wrong.

I have this CPU ready, waiting for the same board SKU to arrive by the 20th. I could probably take a look once I have everything up and running.

Did you change the ACPI path of the TB3 ports? Can you please post the IOReg export.
