I swear im not having any luck with asus... they said they were sending me another rog strix z490e gaming but they sent me a z590 rog strix instead.. from what i understand they run mac os but not with an integrated gpu I would have to buy a video card and thats a no go for me.. omg the luck im having with this company!
Is there specific reason for wanting to use the iGPU (apart from potential cost of a suitable discreet GPU thanks to sellers capitalizing on post-covid demand)? You could still be lucky. The cost of an RX 580 like mine, for example (though likely inflated) may still be within reach, especially the 4GB variety.

Did a quick search "Yes, Z590 motherboards support both Intel 10th gen and 11th gen processors. "
So, it seems like a win for you with free upgrade to Z590. Which I don't think the iGPU will be an issue in this case. As long as the CPU supported by the MoBo.

@supports{} my point, indeed: In an ideal world, jumping through such hoops shouldn't be necessary!

Your second link struck a chord (or chime, I suppose, in Apple parlance): I've wanted to keep Mojave on hand for the sake of having access to apps no longer supported in the post-32bit genre; thus far, I've been using VMs. If your success in booting Mojave directly with OpenCore can be reflected with the Prime Z490-A, that will be interesting. It looks like my Catalina (0.6.5) configuration shared some of the characteristics of your High Sierra config.plist.

I'll be monitoring that thread for updates. Thanks.

I forgot to mention, it works with Mojave as well.

Its a really nice gaming board, im thinking of maybe taking the win, biting the bullet and getting a supported video card. I can still go that route correct?
Oh absolutely :)

That's what I would do. As I mentioned somewhere above (scroll up) the AMD RX 580 is probably a decent choice for your needs. Sure, there are arguably more capable dGPUs, depending on what's needed, but the 580 seems fine even for casual gaming. I have no complaints.

There are some really decent cards available now for 10th/11th gen, but, ffs, $3000+ for a unit that was probably only $600 a few months ago?!! That's the proverbial excretion of a bull!
