Hi folks, I acquire a Dell Optiplex 5000, with a i7-12700 and a AMD Radeon RX 640 4GB.
First I install the macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and it works at full 4k Resolution!!!
Besides the resolution, the video is very slow, without the transparency effects.
Well, in the System Report the vendor and device IDs are corrects but macOS don't
recognizes the 4GB VRAM.
I'm using a MacPro1,1 SMBIOS. Is this wrong and may causes the problems?

RX640 is not natively supported. Support starts with the RX 6800 etc. in Big Sur.
You could use an older RX 560 if it fits in your Optiplex.

Looking at the GPU-Z screen above, it looks like it might be a Lexa chipset? I've never heard of RX640 before, but the app seems to confirm that's what it is.

Any chance a spoof might work?

550X ID: Device Id: 0x699f

It looks like there's a Dell model maybe made just for OEMs ?
The RX550X 640SP ID might possibly work. Not sure what that is.
Good guess would be 0x67ff

Radeon 550X 640SP, which uses the same GPU as the 550X but has all 640 shaders enabled
This is Baffin and not Lexa based so it's supported. Not a bad GPU for basic graphics in a hack.

Here's the info from the Dortania Github:

RX 550 models come in 2 flavours known as Baffin and Lexa. The former is officially supported in macOS however the latter is not. Here we have a simple breakdown explaining how to determine which GPU is Baffin and which is Lexa even if OEMs do not openly mention.

So this GPU-Z report/panel doesn't make sense. Says it's a Lexa card yet it has 640SP and 1500MHz memory ???
Maybe Dell is just messing with us ? They've been known to before.

I am installing Ventura on the same model Dell Optiplex 5000, with an i7-12700. Can you share CFG Lock Offset info and EFI folder please?
