Correct me if I'm wrong and hope this helps...

Remember and see if your using pre-DSDT.
DSDT users:
LegacyHDA + AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback

Hope this helps, Good Luck!

My front panel works, but it is crackly; this is very common amongst Hackintosh's, especially P55 systems. Some report flawless front panel audio, some get nothing, and some get the good old fuzz. Someone a while ago found out that the front panel crackles because of the grounding, or something like that. Oddly enough, I have never had this problem on AMD hack's I have done (even auto switching worked). If anyone has a solution please post. :p

Good rule of thumb. My problem is that I have NEVER had any luck getting the LegacyHDA888.kext to work. Not with DSDT edits, not with HDAEnabler included. And yes, I put it in E/E though I even tried S/L/E. Nothing! Hence why I take the time to re-compile the AppleHDA.kext with each OS update for my audio chipset.

Thank you! Works like a charm on my P55-UD3

Any luck with that HDAEnabler included kext?

Updated and works, thank you Bansaku !

LegacyHDA + AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback

Thanks that was my audio solution for my first install 10.6.5 on Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2:

1) use MultiBeast with custom "DSDT-GA-P55M-UD2-F11.aml" on desktop

2) for LAN driver Realtek RTL8111D chip so used "Realtek RTL8169.kext"

3) for i3 and 1333 RAM speed detection add "Chameleon 2.0 RC5"

4) for "alc888b" audio needed both "AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback" + "LegacyHDA"

eSata external drives and USB swap nicely just eject did not need to add anything for these to work.

EDIT: Very slow boot time corrected with BIOS changes as per the helpful blog at
http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/2010/07/opt ... ation.html.
CPU Cores Enabled-----All
CPU MultiThreading-----Enabled
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)-----Enabled
C3/C6/C7 State Support-----Enabled
CPU Thermal Monitor-----Enabled
CPU EIST Function-----Enabled
Bi-Directional PROCHOT-----Enabled

Also changed the "Advanced Memory Settings" XMP from "disabled" to "Profile1" which then detects the 1600MHz ram.

Result is much faster boot times(grey apple logo loading screen no longer takes 77 seconds to move onto the purple dock screen and the hard drive light does not keep loading for 4 minutes after that). Plus the i3-540 3.06MHz is now showing 3.68MHz, RAM now detected at 1600MHz. Cinebench scores went from CPU 2.55 to 2.72, OpenGL 13.70fps to 13.71.

How am I supposed to install this?
Am I just supposed to install:
AppleHDA.ALC888kext.10.6.5.zip
(tried this didn't work)
or do I need:
AppleHDA.ALC888kext.10.6.5.zip
AppleHDA.ALC888.HDAEnablerkext.zip
(they are both named AppleHDA.kext)

essentially I'm asking WTH is
AppleHDA.ALC888.HDAEnablerkext.zip

What I did.
1. Download Kexthelper B7
2. Download AppleHDA.ALC888.HDAEnablerkext.zip rename it HDAEnabler.kext
3. Download AppleHDA.ALC888kext.10.6.5.zip keep it AppleHDA.kext
3. Delete AppleHDA.kext from /system/library/extensions/
4. Delete extensions.mkext from /system/library/
5. Open kexthelper B7
6. Drag both HDAEnabler.kext & AppleHDA.kext to Kexthelper B7
7. Once you confirm that both paths to your files are listed in kexthelper, enter your admin password and proceed with easy install.
8. applications/utilities/disk utility.app >> first aid tab >> repair disk permissions
9. restart

I've been trying to get audio to work all day :(. I had my speakers running through my front audio port and after I gave this a try decided to put it to the back. It worked! Unfortunately, I don't know what else I have done that worked as well.

With the help of this post
[ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 43519.html ]

Any ideas how to get my front port working?
