Hey!!

I just posted in the Graphics section on another problem as well, so help me out there if you can too!

Anyway, no matter what I may try (it's been a week), I can never EVER get the sound working on this machine. My system details should be available in my profile. I have gone through toleda's guides, and cannot get a working solution, although my system seems to be supported. I used to run El Capitan on this system over a year ago, so I know it should work... Now I have resulted in reporting my problem, hoping someone smarter can help me. I have also gone through toleda's Problem Reporting information, and have included the data I was able to retrieve.

Problem:
No output or input devices found.

OS X Vers: 10.12.5 Sierra
Mobo: Asus H170-PRO
BIOS Vers: I don't know
CPU: i7-6700k
GPU: R9 390 (Have a problem with this as well. Posted here)
Other: Files attached (.zip)

Thanksss!!!

Remove L/E/AppleHDA.kext.(do not touch AppleHDA.kext if you want working audio)

Thank you for the heads up! Done this...
Still doesn't work, you probably expected that though...
(I get Inputs and Outputs, none of them work at all)
Also tried re-installing ALC887/888b drivers through Multibeast, nada.

I attached some command file outputs in a zip file. Is that what you needed? Is there anything else?

I have the same chip as you and was able to get this working like so:

First, make sure you are starting with a native/virgin AppleHDA.kext as it's installed by MacOS, in the location it's installed by MacOS. As Toleda said, you don't need to touch/alter this file and don't have another one installed somewhere else (like /L/E). If you need help getting back to the the original file see Toleda's Restore native AppleHDA [Guide].pdf

Then, at this point all I needed to do is install Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext in EFI/Clover/kexts/other as in Toleda's guide (i.e., Method III, step 2). At that point I had completely working on-board audio.

'Tis working ;). Fact is, I kinda figured it out myself, but did exactly as you said. I think I wasn't reading toleda's guide correctly.

What I did was this:
  1. Removed all AppleHDA.kext's I found on my system.
  2. Also removed all RealtekALC.kext's I found.
  3. I apparently also had an AppleALC.kext, got rid of that. (Basically I got rid of any kext that I thought had any connection to audio.)
  4. Went to toleda's guide, and found that I needed to install something called Lilu, and re-install a clean AppleHDA.kext.
  5. Downloaded Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext.
  6. Extracted AppleHDA.kext from my UniBeast USB using Pacifist.
  7. Installed the AppleHDA.kext to /S/L/E.
  8. Put the Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext into my EFI partition (EFI/Clover/kexts/other)
  9. Rebooted.
  10. Ta-da
I guess I just made a simpler version of toleda's Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Lol!

Anyway,
Thank you!!!
