500GB SSD, 2 Partitions, Mavericks & Windows 8 possible?

Hey guys, there are a bunch of threads on this topic; however, I haven't found any on using one drive to run both Mavericks and Windows 8 with a two partition setup.

To get this to work, would I use Mac OSX Journaled for the Mavericks OS, and MS-DOS for the Windows OS?
