4K Monitor Support in OS X 10.9.3 - Testing Thread

Anyone running The Dell UP2414Q at 60Hz (OS X 10.9.3)? Does any ATI card work?

I am tired of trying with my nvidia GTX 760 and I am thinking about switching to ATI.

Cheers!

Same here, UP2414Q and GTX 770. No 60 Hz.
I haven't read anyone, even with ATI, having this working.

Crossfire'd 2x7950s and Samsung U28D590 here:

Using DP when I go higher than 2560x1400 I get garbage of the right side for the last 10 percent of the line. I notice the screen is set to 56hz instead of 60hz (which would perfectly explain the issue). Any way I can force 60hz? DisplayMenu is lying. Would ATIRom settings help?
Using HDMI (30hz only) anything above 3360x1890 causes color reflection on text.

Under Windows I get full 3840x2160 @60hz just fine (with DP).

Is anybody else seeing this?

I have a Samsung UE40HU6900 40 inch Smart 4K Ultra HD Freeview HD LED TV connected to my GTX660 running at 3840 x 2160 @ 30hz connected to the HDMI port. It doesn't have a display port. It's capable of 60hz. Originally I wasn't getting the exact correct resolution. It was slightly too wide . But I installed the Display Menu app and now it's the correct resolution. Logic Pro X is looking very sharp and nicely scaled on it.

One odd things is my GTX 660 is 2gb but it's only showing up as 1gb.

Here's what I've made work on my setup.

i7-3770k / GTX 660 2 GB / 10.9.3 / 3 Monitors

First: 28" Samsung U28D590 (3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz) connected via Display Port on GTX 660
Second: 24" Asus VE247 (1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz) connected via DVI on GTX 660
Third: 23" Asus VH238 (1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz) connected via DVI on GTX 660

Check out the graphic I attached.

Tried the UP2414Q with a GTX 660 Ti (both DP to DP and mini-DP to DP) and I have the same experience as others. It scales beautifully and everything looks amazing, but it's stuck at 30Hz and feels like using VNC over dialup. Nothing really unique to report, but I do have a general question!

Are there any theories of ATI cards that might work but people haven't been able to try due to lack of the monitor and/or the card? I'll certainly switch over and try it if there's a compelling enough theory. After using this monitor and seeing how amazing everything looks, it's painful to think that I might have to go back!

Failing that, are there any IPS displays similar to the UP2414Q with a similar price range? Everything I've seen has either been TN or waaaaay more expensive.

As it has already been mentioned in this thread, no, we didn't have luck with Radeons either. Specifically with the R9 270x. Both marco0782 and I bought it just to see if MST 4k@60Hz would work with it, but apparently neither of us could get it work. I eventually returned the card.

At the moment I haven't seen much. I don't think there is another similar option available for sale now but anything is possible I suppose. I have heard of one upcoming monitor that should be available soon though:

Asus PB279Q - 27" IPS 4K under $1000

It does stand to reason that there will be newer models that drop MST for SST as well as more options between IGZO, IPS and TN at different sizes,.....price points,....

My mistake, it actually an ASUS PQ321 (Look at the screen name in screentshot)

But the good news is that it is also MST like the dell 24 & 32 inches.
