Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

I have a GA-Z87X-UD3H which upgraded ok to Yosemite after a bit of fiddling with -f boots and rebuilding the kernel extension cache. The only thing that is shaky is the ALC898 audio. The speaker icon at the top will blink sometimes and during playback in itunes or vlc it will sometimes drop out...

    GAZ87-D3HP with F7c beta bios

I have been trying to fix freezing issues forever on a D3HP build. And this isn't the 4-DIMM problem as I only have 2. I even gave in and installed a Windows7 partition and it would freeze too, so it wasn't a hackintosh-specific thing. My latest attempt has been to install the F7c beta bios...

Mavericks with i7-4770K and z87x-d3h golden build freezing :(

Multibeast 6.1 I assume? There were issues with the Intel network driver in 6.0 I think it was. You had to go back and pull it out of a previous release, but this should be all fixed in 6.1.

Mavericks with i7-4770K and z87x-d3h golden build freezing :(

I have similar problems with very similar hardware. GA Z87-D3HP and a 4770k with 16G of ram (2x8) I have also tried all the things you listed. Latest Bios, upping the cpu and memory voltages, and getting rid of the FakeSMC plugins but I still can't shake the occasional complete system freeze.

Freezing shortly after login - Asrock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer

I haven't seen mention of the FakeSMC plugins causing crashes before. Do you have more details on that? I have two Hackintoshes that are very similar. One with a 4770k + GA-D3HP and one with a 4771+GA-UD3H. The D3HP box freezes quite often while the other box is fine. They are both running...

    Z87X-UD5TH Random Freeze

Check the other threads. This appears to be a Gigabyte motherboard/bios issue. Increase your CPU and DRAM voltages a bit. For some reason the BIOS defaults are too low, especially if you have 4 sticks of ram.

add a 1TB WD blue HDD

Did you try it? Just add it and go into Disk Utility and partition/format it.

Cursor Jumps All Over The Screen

How far from the mouse/keyboard is the usb dongle they talk to? If you move the mouse right next to the dongle, is it less jumpy? If so, get a little USB extender cable and run the receiver closer to your mouse/keyboard.

What programs accessing my hard drive

It is usually mds/Spotlight when you see random heavy disk io. Try turning that off. You can also run: sudo iotop and sit and watch that for a while to see what shows up.

    GA-Z87-D3HP + EVGA 660 Ti Random freezing

Looks like I solved this one. I noticed CPU temps were spiking (HWMonitor is awesome) so I took off the CM H60i water cooler and noticed that the pre-applied thermal paste had barely been disturbed and it was quite hard to the touch. Scraping it off and putting fresh paste on drastically reduced...

    GA-Z87-D3HP + EVGA 660 Ti Random freezing

I have a Z87-UD3H box with an MSI 650 Ti which is rock solid. My 2nd box, however, which is a Z87-D3HP with a 4770k (not overclocked) and an EVGA 660 Ti 2G is crashing randomly. No sign of anything in the logs, the system just locks up either when it is just sitting idle or when someone is doing...

Network Connection would collapse, then crash the system; on 10.9

Weird, I haven't seen this problem on a GA-Z87X-UD3H. Is it controller-specific? This board has a an Intel i217V. Anyone else with this controller seeing the problem? Perhaps I haven't pushed it hard enough to see it?

I have the same motherboard running Mavericks now and sleep works just fine. I didn't need to do anything special to make it work.

UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Article: UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC What did it say on the panic screen? For me I got a panic in the AppleTyMCEDriver kernel extension which I fixed by booting with -x and deleting it from /System/Library/Extensions

OS X Mavericks is Now Available on the Mac App Store for Free

No problems doing an in-place upgrade of my GA-Z87-UD3H/i7-4771 build from 10.8.5 to Mavericks using Unibeast/Multibeast. Everything seems to still be working. I had to boot with -x to delete the AppleTyMCEDriver kext, but I had to do that with Mountain Lion as well.

Hackintosh Help Can only boot in safe mode HELP!

I have almost the same setup. UD3H board with a 4771 (non-k). The big difference is that I am using the HD4600 native graphics. If you take your 760 out, does it work? The installation instructions suggest you do the full install with the native graphics and then add the separate GPU afterwards.

    10.8.5 on GA-Z87MX-D3H with 4770K- Won't Boot

Ok, success. Managed to get to a shell without a mouse and deleted that AppleTyMCEDriver kext and it is now booting as a MacPro5,1 without -x No hdmi audio and it isn't letting me go beyond 1920x1080 on an hdmi 1.4 cable.
