End of the Hackintosh? T2 and the iMac Pro

The T2 IC in the iMac Pro could become a prerequisite to run macOS down the track. Could this be the end of the Hackintosh, or the end of the Hackintosh with all macOS features accessible...

    GA-Z68XP-UD5 – 10.11.6 wake issues

Oh I can live without USB3, it's wake from sleep I really need. I have audio gear that will switch off when the machine goes to sleep. Via a switching device and power conditioner. Otherwise I'm just chewing through scads of electricity. Like a good 2000 watts.

    GA-Z68XP-UD5 – 10.11.6 wake issues

Right. Previous board wouldn't boot with USB3 instigated in BIOS. This board does (of course USB3 is not functional) – I will try with USB3 off on this board.

    GA-Z68XP-UD5 – 10.11.6 wake issues

Hi all, I know this has been covered but I've not been able to find a fix. Previous motherboard had the ethernet port die so I replaced it with a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD5 - F6 firmware – 16GB RAM , i5 2500K (meagre overclock to 3.4GHz), GT740. Clover. Install was relatively straightforward –...

[SOLVED] Ethernet port dead after 10.11.6 install

So, after some kerfuffle I'm back on deck. Turns out the ethernet port on the previous motherboard was severely fried. I booted the machine with a copy of Ubuntu, which also showed no existence of an ethernet port. The Ubuntu installer is quite special, as you can boot the entire system from a...

[SOLVED] Ethernet port dead after 10.11.6 install

Hi P1lgrim, Well, I'm putting this down to a faulty ethernet port. Have just managed to boot a backup of the system and ethernet seems dead in that system also. Tried other cables, router etc... to zero avail. Strangely my backup refuses to boot with the GPU it's been running for ages. Had a...

[SOLVED] Ethernet port dead after 10.11.6 install

That's certainly what I'm hoping – what concerns me is I've never had this occur. Previous build was the same UniBeast USB key. Same install procedure. I kept notes and the appropriate apps (MultiBeast 8.2.3 and Multicast 8.01 – strictly for the Audio ALC889 driver – 8.2.3 doesn't install an...

[SOLVED] Ethernet port dead after 10.11.6 install

Port LED lights with computer off. Enabled in BIOS At the minute I'm thinking a PCIE card would get me out of strife – but then that wouldn't be en0, leaving App Store out of the picture... Thanks P1lgrim

[SOLVED] Ethernet port dead after 10.11.6 install

Hi all, I know this is covered well in other posts, however, despite checking into many of the fixes (alternate kexts etc...) I cannot get this ethernet port to function. Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-H67MA-USB3-B3 Processor – i5 2400 3.2Ghz Due to installing an app that screwed my rig I've had...

    Swapping Processors.

Retaining motherboard for current system. Only change is the processor for the candidate system drive. I'll take the punt (and the time) to swap the processors after I've confirmed the Asus will accept El Capitan. thanks again.
