The mobo's RGB lights light up. I highly doubt it's the PSU. It literally happened during the update from 14.1.1 to 14.1.2. I was sitting at the computer watching the update. The update caused a restart and it never turned back on.
Thanks. It doesn’t seem to affect all hackintosh updates. I’ve also seen posts from real Mac users saying their computer bricked during the update as well. I figured I’d post as a warning that it is possible. Seems rare though.
I found a few other instances of a macOS update bricking mobos, but not my particular one or 14.1.2. Seems maybe random? It was definitely the macOS update that caused it. I was sitting at the computer when it happened. It went to restart as part of the update and then just nothing.
I didn't even think this was possible from an OS update, but I was updating from 14.1.1 to 14.1.2 and it seems to have bricked my mobo. My mobo is the ASUS TUF GAMING Z390M-PRO WIFI mATX. My install was a current vanilla OpenCore version on a super stable desktop. I've tried everything I can...
I have a similar issue and was wondering if anyone has any advice for a solution. I currently have big sur 11.1 with OC 0.6.5. Airplay works fully for all my other devices (real MBA and iphones). On my hack I can play audio through airplay in the music app, but it isn't an output option for my...
Anyone else have slow boots with the GTX 970?
I think it has something to do with the GPU bc when I boot from the onboard graphics it boots up very quickly without changing anything else booting from the 970 takes 30 - 40 seconds longer. When I look at the console log after the boot, seems...
Hey Rehabman, thanks for all your hard work helping us use os x on pc hardware! Just wanted to let you know about an issue I'm having with your 1.2.8d9 kext. My usb 3.0 ports don't recognize when a thumb drive is inserted but my logitech transmitter works just fine. I've tried other versions and...
Hi everybody :D
It took some doing but I was able to switch my dual boot (Mavericks and Windows 7) to UEFI and Clover. It did take me a little time to figure out the basics, but after a few weeks of tinkering, I think I've got it now. My system works great (Gigabyte Q77M-D2H, i7) in full UEFI...

goto fail exploit is a big deal and definitely worth the effort in upgrading your system.

App store update seems to be working great on my Q77M-D2H system. Had to adjust my display settings but nbd (GTX 650 w/OS X drivers). Updated audio and TRIM with multibeast as suggested. My mute button works! I've been hoping this would be fixed, when did this become functional??
