adding Win 7 results in Cinebench so we can see that Apple has a lot of homework OpenGL is important , because a lot of Proapps Aperture, PS, Motion etc. and most of all games heavily rely on OpenGl performance. same rig .

slightly off topics : HD 5770 is just more difficult in Win 7 with current ATI catalysts after 9.12 I had to write a EDID override inf. , cause I had no chance to get 1920x1200 as my native resolution. Win 7 is very strict with EDID informations. OSX is much more forgiving.

Did it : stock HD 5770 @ stock CPU 3 Ghz = 35.64 fr. My best Win 7 and Macosx OpenGl results with an HD 5770 (note Win 7 is 32 bit - so 90 fr. would be in reach :-) CPU= 7.06 So long on the fly : Number 1 in Win7 and MacOSX 10.6.4 :mrgreen:

Luckily got a nice i 7 750 chip with a good batch that boots in Win7 @ 4,52 on air @1,34 V load and finishes a 32 M SuperPi in 8.06 .(inst. with iboot-ati5x) Boots in OSX 10.6.4 @ 4,45 . Not for 24/7, though temps are < 75 degrees C load. Using an Armageddon cooler in pushpull config. with 2...

64 bit with HD 5770 worked for a long time here with aseres mod. 1.1.9. with vervet as framebuffer , without any ati rom and netkas init ..see my post @ insane 7/2010 simply graphics enabler yes and if you dont use a DSDT = PCIRootUID= 1 but kabyl boot works perfectly here as well ..

FSB detected wrong here as well (will correct it) but like my memory performance .-)
