Hi,

I just wanted to ask small question about memory performance. I know that I have to wait for new chameleon to have working cpu and memory detection (new chameleon + 10.6.5) for my i3 530 and 1333 ddr3...BUT

I have checked geekbench (32-bit) results of iMac11,2 with cpu i3 540 and i3 550. New iMac has the same memory as I have 1333 ddr3 but got much better result with memory performance and memory bandwidth performance

new imac with i3 540 and 1333 ddr results:
memory performance about 4200-4400
memory bandwidth performance about 3500-3700

but my "iHack" :) and other people with i3 530 and 1333 ddr3 get:
memory performance about 2700-2900
memory bandwidth performance about 2700-3100

and this is my question...

new imacs has some special versions of SL???
or wrong FSB, cpu and memory detection is not only cosmetic??? maybe we sholud use iMac11,2 or iMac11,3 smbios.plist (iMac11,1 now) ???

any ideas???? can someone explain>>>

thanks for any help

edit: here is similar problem viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5237

but no answer :(

FSB detected wrong here as well (will correct it)
but like my memory performance .-)

Hi

Checked with Windows 7 GeekBench version (32-bit):

memory performance: 4200
memory bandwidth peroformance: 3700

so it is like iMac 11,2

hope 10.6.5 and new chameleon will help us :(

I am in the same situation:

i3 530 and Ram 1333:
Mem Perfomance 2537
Mem bandwidth Per.. 2691

I am using only 1 Module of 2GB, so dual channel is not possible.

I am interested on this post too.

OC'ed i3 530 from 2.93 to 3.66 and the same results with geekbench for mac (windows version - higher scores) :(

all options in bios (advanced CPU) enabled ... no AUTO but nothing change

can't wait for chameleon and 10.6.5

EDIT: this viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3365&start=0 resolves OC problem and right fsb detection but still poor memory performance

some tests with S_Leo and Win 7

please, someone with the same problem?

Yes, there are memory speed issues for me as well, but at least the system is stable (which is a lot.)

yes you're right...

just try to understand where the problem is :(

Here is result from 10.6.5 + Newish Chameleon.

checked one more time but with 64-bit version of geekbench

Integer Processor integer performance 5930
Floating Point Processor floating point performance 10648
Memory Memory performance 4678
Stream Memory bandwidth performance 4170

RESULT 7154

and memory performance the same as imac11,3 with i3-550

so there is problem only with 32-bit version of geekbench ????
