I've installed El Capitan on all my apple stuff. Macbook Pro and my hackintosh and it's been fine. So as many as you want.
I had problems migrating from Yosemite to El Capitan. I had to go the fresh install route in the end. I took the plunge and moved away from legacy too for the clover...
At this point it's gone beyond me. Either wait it out for someone else to chime in, or maybe have a think if you're wanting to install El Capitan or not. At least you can get into safe mode to make sure you've backed everything before hand. That's what i'd do in the meantime.
Now i'm using...
Will it boot normally if you use GraphicsEnabler=No flag?
If so, the you'll need to edit the org.chameleon.boot.plist and change it to No in there, save the file and it should boot as normal.
*** EDIT If i remember right, Multibeast sets GraphicsEnabler=Yes by default
I don't have much experience either. I've been fortunate that most of my past hackintosh machines have just 'worked'.
Can you boot to safe mode with the -x flag?
Maybe you can run multibeast again from there?
I have a clover El Capitan install too. Same problem, but i don't like using sleep anyway - I shut my computer down completely when i'm not using it, so i just set the sleep option to 'never'.
Hi,
Normally when installing Yosemite in the past (non-clover) I only had to set the nv_disable=1 flag and I could install fine until I got the NVidia web drivers installed.
I had a go at a fresh install of El Capitan (unibeast clover) last night. I made the USB with unibeast. When installing...
If you were running the installer and it was stopping just less than halfway showing a stop sign then I had the same problem. Weirdly this was fixed by just entering the bios, exiting without saving, then boot the installer from usb. It then managed to get to the installer and I was able to...
Two things I've done to get by with this tricksy thing is: try entering your bios, and exit without saving - boot straight to usb. It worked for me oddly.
then after I got it installed i setup multibeast to install both my network devices. Upon reboot a loading bar would stick halfway. however...
It's moved along a tiny bit, but the loading bar seems to be stuck halfway now. Beginning to wish I'd manually installed the Kexts for the 2 network devices now
I just upgraded from Mavericks on my z77x UD5H. When it got into Yosemite all looked fine but I noticed both network devices were gone. So I loaded up my old Mavericks DSDT file which informed me of newer file versions etc. I checked through what it had set up and it looked ok. So I set it away...
I had the same problem. Popped my Yosemite stick in, installer bar got to just under halfway and showed a stop sign. I tried number of flags on boot. Nothing worked. Then.....
just out out of curiosity I went to have a look in my bios. All appeared to be correct so I just exited (without...
Do drivers for mavericks exist for ATI 7970? I thought they were internal to the mac os? I recently installed 10.9.5 update but the problem still exists.
It works perfectly in Windows 7 4k res at 60hz
Mavericks works at 4k too but with a distorted strip about 1 inch wide over to the right of...
When in Windows 7 I can get the full resolution of my 4k Samsung U28D590D monitor at 60hz. When I boot into Mavericks I can get the full resolution, but I get a distorted vertical strip about one inch wide to the right of the screen. When I go into the monitor information it shows it is running...
The only single problem i had with Mountain lion was the sleep trick for my ATI 7970.
Now with Mavericks i have a fully working system. The only thing i need to do after install, is install the atheros 898 kext then it works fine. I don't even need to do this as i use an external edirol USB...
Great stuff. I think just about everything works fine now. The only things left i can think of is i occasionally hear a quiet popping sound from my right speaker and sometimes when browsing youtube i have to refresh the page to get sound back. It'd be really great to get the keyboard backlight...
Thank you so much OmarMohi. I have ML running on my G74SX! I have the same cpu as you so i only had to install your kext installation files. The only things i've noticed is that the info is showing that i have 3gb of video memory but i have the 2gb version - do i need to install a specific kext...
OmarMohi, you seem to have the G74SX install pretty well sussed. Maybe a new guide with a full kexts package? :D It'd be something good to look back on if ever you have to reinstall - I always seem to forget everything when a reinstall is due.
JohnnyOSX - Did you get the G74SX fully working yet with usb3 etc? I have one too, i'm looking for a guide to do mine, any suggestions as to where to look to get this up and running on Mountain Lion?
