I looked up the last line where I seem to be hanging...
AppleLPC::start - could not find IOPlatformPlugin driver
And found that I may be missing FakeSMC.kext.
How can I get to that /Extra/Extensions from terminal?
I am guessing that may not be my only issue, but it is recurring.
I had no idea you were so busy on this forum until I looked at all the replies. Wow.
Thanks again for the help so far.
I did redo my typing, still no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
I'm up for anything on this computer. It is a dual boot off of one hard drive though. :(
I am going to...
Thank you very much for response!
Will try again...
I have 2 monitors, both HDMI connections.
Should I unplug one?
And thanks for the correction. Doh!
Sorry, added image 728 - I redid the text and still had no real effect... can try again.
Thanks for the response!
This was over a month ago but I think I was picking a general sound driver. In retrospect, that must not have been the case since I cannot get back into OSX anymore.
I used Chimera and multibeast (tried using Clover but just couldn't get that to work) and did have it...
I am thinking I made the mistake when I added a driver I shouldn't have in the sound driver part of multibeast -- and now I cannot boot into OSX at all. Can anyone help me? :banghead:
Is there something else I am missing?
How do I fix the error to get back into OSX?
I am able to get into Windows without issue.
I would appreciate any help at all.
Thanks in advance.
Had Yosemite working and saw a few errors in verbose mode - made the mistake of trying to correct in multibeast and ended up with this mess. Now it won't boot into Yosemite again. :roll2:
I guess the main question is - should I try to get rid of the errors I see in verbose mode or leave well...
Thank you both, will do that.
UPDATE: Used MacDrive Pro and was able to delete that bothersome kext and see my Mac side again. Thank you so much for the help! Ya'll rock on this forum. :headbang:8-)
Sorry BIOS is UEFI Gigabyte V F-14 just flashed this month (I know, really late)
And yes, I am dual booting off of one drive. Not the best scenario, but it was working at one time.
:banghead:
Totally idiotic of me.
I can't get in the Mac side of my computer.
On a good note, I finally got around to setting up the long neglected Windows side.
My system:
mb gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Z77
graphics nvidia geforce GT 640 2048
processor 3.39 GHz intel core i5
memory 16 GB 1600 MGz...
One thing you may want to try is flashing your BIOS - go to your motherboards manufacturer, and get any updated drivers for your motherboard. And make sure it is on factory settings. Otherwise it will mess with the Mac OS that you put in place.
I don't see your motherboard, processor, graphic card on the list for a hackintosh.
To build one you need specific components that Apple recognizes. The list is here:

When I built my PC, I did it with the hackintosh as...
My guess is that some of the hardware may not be compatible with Yosemite. This is, of course, not knowing his full system but hearing that you had an old system. Yosemite needs a bit of processing power. Check out the list and see if there is anything you can upgade that may make a difference...
Make sure your parts are on this list:

and try using this guide :)

and that way when you come in the forums they won't...
