Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Well, I got it all fixed by overwriting the EFI partition with a backup from my old install. I still don't know what exactly was wrong, but at this point I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks to all who tried to help.

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Well, I bought me a GTX 950: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487225 And no change! I am completely at a loss as to what might be the culprit...

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Went as far as flashing the VGA bios on my video card... tried a couple of different vendors (asus, palit) - no difference. At this point, I am willing to consider a card that is GUARANTEED to work (gtx 950-960 maybe). Seems to me PNY is just not a good choice.

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Hey guys, so I spent a few days fighting with the "downloaded" message at App store (was trying to re-download OSX hoping it'd be a slightly newer version than what I had on my installer USB.) Then some more time trying to create a new installer from it to no avail. Somehow this install has been...

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Thanks TL. Tried this as well as a bunch of other (almost random) flags in Configurator (and yes, I had it all along) - things like "FIX_INTELGFX", Nvidia wherever I saw it, then "inject nvidia" (and its other options like "inject Video Bios" in Clover's temp config menu, but it seems that...

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

So since this is apparently an unsolvable mystery, could someone tell me if it would be at all possible to use the -v flag in config.plist, but at the same suppress it somehow so the boot screen would appear more or less "normal"? Just clutching at straws here.

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

I see my post has been moved from the El Capitan thread by a mod. Well, it's been a month, and still no change. I had hoped this might improve after updating El Capitan to 10.11.3 and the Nvidia drivers, but nothing's changed. I have tried any imaginable flags, and sometimes the apple logo...

Need Help - Have To Use -v or Stalls at Apple Logo Screen

Got an odd issue here, probably nothing new to the gurus here, but puzzles me... Everything went pretty much by the book - install, reboot from USB, multibeast, installed Nvidia web driver (correct one, for 10.11.2), everything is working EXCEPT - throughout the entire process and up to this...

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens UPDATE: I got it working! It looks like having the unibeast installer USB plugged in messes with the boot somehow, even though I made sure to hit F12 and select my system drive at startup.

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens well, I'm at my wits end - added variables, ran script with seeming success (both files attached again) - still no sound devices. ran kextbeast with realtekALC.kext and RealtekRTL8111.kext on desktop, confirmed they are in...

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

ALMOST there So I did. This time it went a bit better. It appears that Clover Configurator wrote to my USB drive the first time around, so I made sure to unplug everything except my system drive. I have ethernet AND dual screens now, but can't get sound no matter what. If I mount EFI with...

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens My /System/Library/Extensions was removed in the upgrade. I saw others mention the same happening, so at this time, I only have /L/E, which contains my previously copied files. To be sure, I just mounted EFI again with Clover...

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens I installed the script per the guide. I am pretty sure I followed the guide to the T. As for the kexts - I didn't do anything beyond what's in the guide + the 'basics" thread. As I mentioned, I had copied whatever kexts I could...

[Solved] Upgrade from Yosemite, post install: no network/audio/dual screens

I just upgraded my perfectly functioning Yosemite (Chimera) install to El Capitan following both the Clover Basics and the Official Guide and it went surprisingly smooth: it boots fine, and even my non-spec (has a VGA output) 750ti seems ok and not causing freezes after 5 min anymore. However...

    Hector (H97N-WIFI / i5-4690 / 16GB RAM) with New Gigabyte 750 TI 2GB Graphics Card

Hi Stork, thank you for this guide, I too had a perfectly running Yosemite install on i5-4590 w/HD 4600, and wanted to upgrade to 750 ti. I deviated from your guide slightly, as my system is a bit hard to work on and I didn't want to unplug the card back and forth, so I booted with -x...
