This is a long shot, but it sorted out the same problem for me when i first installed osx on my machine (i mistakenly deleted a USB control kext). Do you have vnc set up at all? I VNCed into the mac, and used my phone (weirdly) to control the mouse and put the kext back, you might be able to do...

I'm having issues with this as well, not able to download it from the MAS. My identifier is MacPro3,1, and i've tried 5,1 as well. The boot ROM is the tonymac one though, and i have no idea how to change that...

What i've done in this situation is to either boot into windows or another osx disk and delete the kext from there. On an older hackintosh, i took the disk out of the system, connected it up using an sata-usb adapter and mucked around with it on my laptop. Pretty easy if you've got a bootable OS...

You probably need to update your bios. My mobo wouldn't fully boot with anything more than 4gb in it, until i spoke to the people i bought it from, who advised me to just put in one stick (2gb) and update the bios. Of course, your issue might be different, but it's always worth seeing if there...

I ended up with a 1gb Sapphire 5770. It works great, only had one weird issue so far (strange graphical distortions), but a reset fixed it. I hope that i don't need to start another one of these threads in 6 months :P
