[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

I'm with you but paid $1900 AUD for mine! Again, lessens the blow being a business expense. Waiting for support first would have been the smart play but we might be waiting a while. I went with a 10900K also for this reason, so would be pretty sad if no macOS support meant I made two wrong...

<< Solved >> Unable to play videos in Mojave while speakers are turned off

Solved: Was using Toleda's script without any issue since High Sierra came out, so I didn't think it could be anything to do with ALC. I installed AppleHDA.kext and rebooted, voila. My monitor internal speakers detected and loaded, and all devices plugged in. Even when not having any output...

<< Solved >> Unable to play videos in Mojave while speakers are turned off

Quite possible the strangest issue I've ever had to deal with. I spent literally days troubleshooting to see if it was an iGPU issue, QuickTime issue, VLC issue. And as it turns out, my system: - Z170XUD5TH -6600 -RX580 -AUDIOENGINE A2+ speakers If I have the speakers plugged in but turned...

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-I Gaming Motherboard specs

Good to see you've got a somewhat stable release anyhow! It's always a relief. Deep down I kind of like when problems arise, and the sense of accomplishment when you finally fix them. Curious you say you used flags to exclude ports, but the guides generally call for deleting them entirely...

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-I Gaming Motherboard specs

Mate i'm the first to admit my technical abilities are passable at best. What specifically were you struggling with regarding USB? Were you able to use the kext to get all the ports injected? Did you manage to load IOREGISTRY and plug in the various ports till they popped up? I'm happy to help.

Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD

How strange is that! I just picked up a 970 EVO and K70, and I have a Z170 mobo. I haven't encountered any issues with the drive specifically. (Although boot time is the same as my SSD, so I'm questioning, aesthetics aside, whether I really needed the upgrade.) I'm going to do a speed test at lunch.

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-I Gaming Motherboard specs

Hate to be the person to sprout negativity (I'm in this thread as I'm currently researching a new build) but it does occur to me the continued frustrations of people on this journey do often occur because of a lack of understanding of what functions, and what fixes actually do what. Copying...

My experience of switching from Nvidia to AMD

Nice. Do you game on that setup bro? I am in a similar position. Just ordered a Sapphire Pulse 580 8gb (From a GTX 960) and I have a 6700 CPU. Hoping to get back into PC gaming, hope it will run decent.

[Guide] Creating a Custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext

Thanks Rehabman, just completed (Curiously, I went to remove the port limit patch and realised I had never actually used it. Does that seem strange?) Also, now that I have my ports back, how can I test USB3 is transferring at the correct speeds? I'm testing with a 2.5" HDD, getting 95MB/s...

[Guide] Creating a Custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext

Hi Rehabman, I am working my way through your excellent guide. I have successfully mapped all the ports on my computer with the exception of the USB-C ports (2). I plug in my MacBook USB to USBC adaptor (Because I have no USBC devices) but nothing in IOREG pops up in the XHC part. Any ideas why...

    System feels sluggish

Mine is very sluggish. However on latest Nvidia drivers I haven't done the rollback. My plan is to stick it out till next update, suggest you do the same. It's not a life threatening issue and has others have encountered you're only one step away from creating a non bootable problem so I think...

    macOS 10.13.1 Update

Worked like a charm for me did the following: - Updated apfs.efi - Updated nvidia 10.13 drivers to .121 - Updated Clover - Ran Installer - Booted to macOS Installer (Did this by default) - Install completed - Rebooted into system - Changed config2 to none as per...

    High Sierra supplemental update trouble

Run the stand alone update. I'd have a partition backed up, because you may get the reboot loop as a lot of us did. If thats the case, you need to remove all the old nvidia KEXTS from L/E and S/L/E (Anything that starts with NVDA or GEFORCE) and then install the latest nvidia drivers which have...

macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update

Cooked my Skylake build. Had to boot my backup Sierra install, remove the NVDA and Geforce KEXTS out of L/E and S/L/E and then I could boot into it. Updated Graphics and away we go. Interestingly the Geforce files I removed from S/L/E weren't replaced when I updated the drivers. Did I delete...
