So I would like to have a guide that shows how you to uninstall clover and kexst and dsdt for booting on a mac pro and restoring the clover and necessary files.
Ideally this would been done with no more then 2 hard drives and I want the the files and settings to be restorable between booting of...
So disk utility won't work? I will download Super Duper or Carbon Copy and experiment.
And would I just keep a backup of the original Kexts and delete the DSDT then?
So I have a hard drive that I have been using to boot OSX.
Is it possible to uninstall clover(the other kexts dsdt) easily so it possible to boot the same HD on a mac pro?
Brief discussion here...
To be far this isn't that good of an idea. I'm not sure how the system works exactly but find it suprising 2 hard drives can solve this issue which is what I thought multiple partitions were for.
bump are you sure this can't be done?
What if I have 2 laptop hard drives and boot off one for hackintosh and another for the mac pro?
I could set there home directory and settings to the same hard drive.\
Or alternatively 2 partitions or 2 options in the bootloader each loading different files?
I would like to hot swap HDs between a hackintosh and mac pro.
I'm not certain what this would be called or if there are articles on this.
What system would be advised? Is this even possible?
I figured maybe if I put the kexts and dsdt on a boot cd or boot thumb drive it might be possible...
So I can't get IOUSBFamily.kext described here to work.
I am thinking about backing them up manually and then replacing.
The option in the installer doesn't work.
Should I be able to jump from 10.6.3 -> 10.6.8 or do I need to go through each update manually?
So what are /E/E/ and /S/L/E?
EDIT :

To restore full USB functionality on a Non-DSDT or EasyBeast system you may need to install USB Rollback using MultiBeast before reboot. Download MultiBeast.
So it appears my Usb don't which...
Thank you that workedish.
My problem is that I have a hard drive booting but if I update to 10.6.8 it kernel panics.
I was smart enough to duplicate the hard drive before the update but I'm not sure how to go about doing this still.
I end up installing the following.
According to this guide...
Although I have the right chipset or driver I in fact do not have internet access where this computer is installed.
Having the right driver doesn't mean I have internet silly.
Ignoring the nvidia and com.apple.boot.plist issues why can't I install the verbose option under multibeast?
What do you mean by that I already have network access?
Also I need to run legacy software like FCP which is why I need Snow Leopard and not the other OSXs.
So I boot with iBoot and then install snow leopard and reboot.
I then follow the video here
But the problem is the video doesn't mach the latest version of SL multibeast.
The following options are missing marked with an x.
EasyBeast
Sytem Utilities
Rebuild Caches
Repair Permissions...
I would like to be able to hot swap my hard drive between itself and a macbook pro(I mean mac pro).
Now ideally I would then like to keep all kexts and dsdt off the machine and installed on a boot cd or thumb drive.
Is this possible?
Thanks for the reply!
Ok I have concluded that their is either a bad extension in ubuntu or my motherboard doesn't like the ide drive I was using.
I had my snow leopard drives unplugged during the ubuntu install and afterwards my ethernet quit working. The ethernet port was solid yellow the...
Ok so my ethernet port is solid yellow and from what I understand that means it is faulty.
I'm on a p55m-ud2, can anyone confirm that the ethernet is really dead when it is solid yellow? Or is there some way to fix it?
Thanks!
UPDATE: I plugged in an extra ethernet port(pci port) I had...
Why don't you get a ud2? Its mATX and fits in my atx case fine. One or so less screw so I wouldn't push to hard on it but it works fine.
Just curious, Could something bad really happen bye putting a mAtx board in atx case? I mean like does one less screw mean more static build up or...
