Too bad it's not AMD as well. Also I would assume adding an NVMe would also add quite a lot of heat. But at least they're being nice and trying to help people out who want to maximize bandwidth with additional NVMe storage.
Weird, mine wouldn't work after upgrading to Monterey and Ventura. It's an Apollo Silverface rack with TB card, nor did my TB UAD Satellite, BUT .. I purchased a TB3 UAD option card (which is half the price of their first TB option card) and TB4 cable, and it worked instantly. AND I can even...
Ya, I know, right? The card was definitely powered. It was cheaper than a lot of places, and it might have been rebuilt or something. I'm not sure.
But I found a Sapphire 6600 XT for similar pricing. So wish me luck. haha.
As for the OCLP, I'm using that on my
I've heard of nextcloud, and I've...
seems the card isn't working with windows either, i'm going to return it.. i think i'll get a 6600 XT instead to save me from worrying about the 6650 tweaks, and you won't have to waste time helping me haha
thanks for all your help, as always!!
ps - did you happen to get handoff or airdrop to...
i tried searching this thread and saw a device id that i manually added to config.plist but it wasn't 0x73FF, it was 78140000 as per opencore configurator screenshot

i put my old rx 570 back in and it's...
@CaseySJ did you use the pikera boot argument for your 6650 XT build? I'm getting stuck at the apple logo half way and it won't seem to boot, i tried removing the pikera boot arg, no success either way.
FYI, all I have changed is the GPU from a 6600 to a 6650 XT
running ventura latest build.
has anyone noticed a massive speed reduction in the 2.5Gbps port after upgrading to Ventura (currently using 13.6)? I followed the latest i225-V modifications in OC (as shown below). It's only getting about 90 MB/s transfer speeds instead of 200MB/s with the exact same physical network and...
A friend of mine has a z790 ROG Strix (not ProArt), and he apparently had to replace his RAM a few days ago because he had 4 sticks of RAM running XMP. He said the computer store told him XMP wasn't designed to work with 4 sticks, which seems wrong to me since XMP is manufacturer's specs for...
Yeah, I tried manually adding 5200MHz actual spec instead of the "safe-mode" 4800MHz that it defaults to, without adjusting anything else as I don't wanna fry anything with overvoltage :) .. and same problem, freezes within an hour or less.
I'm running a 13th gen i5-13600K, fyi
I had XMP working with 2x 32GB DDR5 5200MHz sticks (they are sold as 5200MHz, I'm not overclocking) on my ProArt Z690, seemed great... so I bought 2 more sticks of RAM, and the board couldn't handle XMP on all 4 and would freeze within a couple of hours or less... pretty frustrating. So I'm...
Yeah, I want a 6800 XT since it has 16GB of RAM. But I'll need to upgrade my case so it will fit! haha! PSU, and maybe more, and the cards in Canada are still $800ish.
Oh, interesting. Does the RX 6650 XT require any additional boot arguments or modifications compared to the 6600.
I was hoping the 6750 XT would have worked with macOS, but I don't think yet? I heard about Noot or something, but I didn't want to buy it if too much tinkering is required, just in...
It seems I’m getting a bit of flickering on my new RX 6600 with the Z690 ProArt.. mostly on YouTube specifically.. maybe it’s an AMD Freesync issue? So far the overall performance upgrade from the RX 570 is minimal at best… sigh.. I’ll try tonight when I get home to see if it’s a monitor setting...
The ProArt.
I guess I connected everything too quickly. I had extra cables from old monitors and didn't connect the cables correctly, LOL... oopsie.
All good now. The name of the GPU in system info is written in the plist. So I edited it. There does seem to be a performance increase, but not...
I just upgraded to a RX 6600 from a RX 570, and I have the pikera boot argument. But system information is showing my old GPU info. I'm sure I'm missing something, I only have 2 out of 4 monitors working... any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I have to go to work now so I can't dig deep ATM for all...
i thought you couldn't use a PCIe Thunderbolt card if you have Thunderbolt onboard .. don't you need to connect to a Thunderbolt header on the motherboard. I'm pretty sure the ProArt doesn't have one since it has Thunderbolt ports already.
