Hi
You have to use Ivy Bridge-series processor if you want to use 1600MHz RAM sticks with this motherboard at their normal speed.
With Sandy Bridge-series processor memory sticks faster than 1333MHz works and shows up only 1333MHz.
After over half year use without problems, suddenly restarts (restart loop) and freezing started about three months ago.
I had to change my G.SKILL Ripjaws (4 x 4GB) to Corsair (2 x 8GB) memory sticks and now everything is working nice again.
These Ripjaws sticks works fine with GA-Z77X-UP5TH...
I'm not using Yosemite anymore (Mavericks only) but I had wake up problems with Mavericks too when Hibernate Mode was selected in MultiBeast configuration.
It looks like this F7 update fixes the freezing problem when using four memory sticks
I have not noticed any other differences to F6 bios so far.
My other hackintosh with same mobo and only 2 memory sticks has never had freezing problems.
If your machine works well and you are...
Not a single freeze after bios update to F7 :headbang:.
Memory profile is set to Profile1 and my memory sticks are not on Gigabyte's list of supported
memory (4 x 4 GB) 2 x F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

After 6 hours usage, CPU speed continuously 3.5GHz because of EyeTV running and Safari (CPU idle 97%), temp of my CPU is at 38°C.
With Geekbench CPU Stress Test (CPU idle 5%) temps varies between 69-81°C. I never have that much load on CPU with normal usage.
I messed something with this machine and freezing came back :wtf:
Updated bios to latest version (F7), memory profile is set to Profile1 and everything seems to work perfect and so far no freezing.
Memory sticks are not on Gigabyte's list of supported memory (4 x 4GB) 2 x...
Thanks Big-L
And yes, PSU have fan on the backside but I didn't made any holes to metal housing because it works as exhaust fan.
There is about 10mm space between backside of PSU and metal housing.
I think the only way to get 5.1 sound out is to use XBMC-Mediacenter program.
Select Optical out and enable passthrough option in XBMC settings.
I have Yamaha DSP-AX620 and 5.1 works.
I have Asus P8Z77M-Pro motherboard, after updating to 10.9.3 and installing audio with MultiBeast 6.3 I had no audio after sleep.
Installed audio again with MultiBeast 6.1 and now sound works without problems, after sleep also.
