    RST instead of AHCI?

Has anyone attempted booting a Hack with SATA configured to RST instead of AHCI in their BIOS? I ask because I’ve been given a shiny new Intel Optane drive and I believe it needs the BIOS to be configured in this way. Can you switch to RST and use the NVME driver to get your Hack to boot?

    Hackintosh Nation

Arstechnica has a pretty great write-up on the current state of hackintoshing. They even mention our favorite site several times. Giver 'er a read.

New Sierra install - No USB 3.0

So my new Sierra upgrade from El Cap. (GA-Z170N-Gaming 5) is working fine except for the fact that none of my USB ports recognize USB 3.0 devices, sort of. When I plug in a USB 2.0 device it works on all ports. If I plug in a USB 3.0 device it's only recognized on the USB 3.1 ports. I've...

Clover 4049 Kernel Panic - [Solved!]

I just updated my Yosemite rig to the latest version of Clover (4049) and now it kernel panics during boot. IMG_4093 by Abe Frohman posted Apr 14, 2017 at 10:54 AM It restarts immediately after the above screen. I can't tell if there are any additional verbose lines after that since it's so...

    GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 or GA-Z170N-WiFi?

So I have an i7-6700K burning a hole in my pocket (metaphorically), it's sitting in it's still unopened box. Now I just need a mini-ITX motherboard to pair with it. I'm currently leaning toward either a GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 or GA-Z170N-WiFi. The GA-Z170N-WiFi seems to be the better of the two...

Does Anyone Else Install This Way?

Instead of using Unibeast to make a bootable USB installer I simply sled the HD or SSD I'm going to use in my Hackintosh to my Macbook Pro and run the original OS X installer; selecting the external drive as the destination. After the OS X installation is complete I will then run the Clover...

    Clover and ATI Injector

Hello all! I'm having a bit of a problem getting my Sapphire R9 280x properly recognized. I have working video (though no QE/CI or framebuffer) when not using ATI-inject. When I use the ATI-inject option in Clover it boots fine until just before the login window then loses video. The system...

    Source for older components?

Fellows (and ladies), are there any recommended resources for buying slightly older motherboards? Specifically, I'm looking for H77 or Z77 boards for a mini-ITX build. Amazon has some but they're way over-priced. Ideas?

    HD3000 kext not loading?

After installing Lion via Unibeast my system properly uses the on-board HD3000 graphics. However, I've found that if I make any changes to the org.chameleon.Boot.plist options and restart it unloads the HD3000 kexts and I get generic 64MB graphics. I've tried using Kext Wizard to load the...

Almost done, I think (Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3)

So I've got my first hackintosh up and running! Thanks for a great resource everyone. Using Unibeast (with laptop support) and Multibeast (with no DSDT) I've achieved near complete functionality. I only had to install the Realtek kexts with Multibeast to get general audio. My only issues so...

    About to pull the trigger!

So I've got all these components sitting in my Newegg cart I just need to verify with the Hackintosh gods before I click the "Buy" button. This build is for an HTPC/moderate gaming rig. It needs to fit into specific dimensions; hence the slim case. Here goes: Motherboard = GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3...
