Hey @jzrodriguez98 I believe I tried that one, but it didn’t do anything.
but since the solution I came to above suddenly stopped working, I’ll give this another go, thank you!
I decided to start from scratch - completely erased my NVMe, made sure to repair it in disk utility (in recovery mode), and re-installed the OS. Worked for me, but I'm not sure why
are apple servers down? I'm having issues downloading using gibMacOS, App Store, OSXDaily, etc etc. this is happening on multiple machines in different networks.
Anyone mind checking? I'm currently trying to fetch version 13.6.1
@Anklebiter 192GB RAM works, but I only recommend the 4x48GB Corsair Vengeance Kit. Don't try to save money by getting two separate 2x48GB kits, as you're likely to get memory errors and system instability (this happened with me when I tried to combine two 64GB kits previously).
Also, TB works...
@kajaba what did you end up doing?
I'm getting stuck at the same spot as you, with the exact same logs. I'm on a WD NVMe. for context, my issue started happening after a power failure.
Understood, thank you.
Just as it is to be given the same suggestions again and again, and having important details in my carefully-drafted posts repeatedly ignored... while facing pedantic explanations on tangential subjects.
No one suggested the firmware update. The conversation here seemed...
That's what I thought! As for the "virtual" USB 2.0 personalities that are attached to 3.0 ports, are those to be categorized as type 0 (2.0) or type 3 (3.0)?
This is turning messy, so, just for the sake of clarity and resolution, here are the latest updates and some necessary(?) in-line replies.
@Edhawk & @UtterDisbelief , I really appreciate the time you've taken to reply, but it's frustrating to be met with the same suggestions over and over...
Thanks @UtterDisbelief , but I stated the model of my motherboard at the very top of my first post... :problem: If I could include two setups in my profile, I would. I have two machines, and I ask for support on both of them on occasion. I've now been called out for asking support on both of...
How is this relevant to the PXSX controller, though? And there are two USB2.0 ports on the rear. All of the comments from the previous screenshot explain exactly where each port is from, but I'm pretty sure it's all mapped correctly. Check out the attached image.
Here's the...
Unfortunately the BIOS options are very limited. I'm afraid of updating, though, because Gigabyte has taken to a capsule-style BIOS (still not sure what that means), from which I supposedly can't downgrade if there are any issues post-update. The current options are:
Legacy USB Support –...
Hey @Edhawk good question, I forgot to mention the case. It's a Fractal North, which should support USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds. This was also happening in a Jonsplus i400 case, which should also support 10Gbps. I read somewhere online that suggested getting an adapter for the USB-C header port, but...
Hi All,
I have a Gigabyte X299 Designare EX build with an ASMedia 2142 USB controller for the front USB-C port that should support 3.1 Gen 2 (10GB/s), but despite all of my attempts at USB mapping I can only get 5Gb/s.
I've tried:
USB type mappings for the port: 3 (USB 3.0 Type-A connector)...
My benchmarks are also below par with what I get on windows, and it seems like this is the experience with several others as well, unfortunately.
With my 13900KF I haven’t reliably gotten past at ~2.8K/18K (single core / multi core) Geekbench 6. Cinebench r23 is closer to windows, but still...
SOLVED: I think the KP somehow corrupted the VBIOS in the GPU. I managed to flash the GPU again with a different tool and it's working again. The .rom that I flashed into the GPU was the same as the old one (same md5 checksum), so idk how or why it worked. Maybe it just "jolted" the motherboard...
So, I was ready to post photos and brag about my completed water-cooled z790 ProArt Creator build with quad GPUs…. but I’m having a strange recurring issue with one of the GPU’s that I can’t seem to figure out.
One of the PCIe slots is bugging out after a kernel panic and that particular GPU...
