    Changing SMBIOS- worth it?

I am on O.C 0.6.5. I switched from Clover/Catalina -- OC 0.5.9/Catalina -- OC 0.6.5/BigSur. Didn't reinstall in any of the steps since it worked all along (thank you OC sanity checker).

    Changing SMBIOS- worth it?

Thanks - that makes total sense. I will keep it as is. As far as I know I get full performance from all components (except Wifi/BT which is disabled and replaced). It was the OC guide that made me realise I wasn't using the optimal SMBIOS which they advice you do.

    Changing SMBIOS- worth it?

Hey all, I have a daily driver mini ITX Z390 system running Big Sur on OpenCore 0.6.5. It works great - not really anything to tweak currently, it's the only computer I use working from home. But, according to specs the iMac 19,1 is a better fit in terms of CPU and GPU for my hardware. I...

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

Wake from BT keyboard seems to work (I have a Satechi one) although it doesn't work pre-boot (entering BIOS). Wake on wifi works although I don't use that feature.

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

I have attached my USB kext. I run OC 0.5.9 in Catalina so that's pretty old. Also, I don't use onboard audio and dGPU so not sure you will have much use of mine - try setting up your own and if you for some reason fail, I can try to help out

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

If you use an adapter for a native macOS card you can install it in the m.2 slot where you normally put SSDs. I do that myself so I can use a video card. Also, in addition to the Asus mobo the Asrock one is also an option.

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

Did you solve this? Does macOS recognise the card when you check under About This Mac - System Report - Wifi. In my case it identifies as Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x117)

What is the correct recipe for hardware sensors in 2020?

I get the temps and fan sensors to show using these three kexts: VirtualSMC, SMCProcessor and SMCSuperIO. It shows my two case fans, the GPU fan and CPU fan. As well as other stuff too like disk temps, ram usage and so on. I run Catalina 10.15.6 in OC 0.5.9.

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

Stop trolling this thread. You're an idiot and that's the root to most of your issues (Hackintosh related or not).

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

Those are the correct cables. make sure the cable holds a female connection since the card is male. Yes, the BCM94360CS2 isn't the fastest card out there. Never claimed it was. I claimed I have a fully working solution which I indeed have. Sure you can use two m.2 SSD drives and use the PCIe...

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

I will have to check. I ordered a bunch of cables since I wasn’t sure what would fit the card, not sure what I ended up with. I had to order from China since most cables I found were too short. Before they arrived I used wifi from the m.2 card and BT from the original card - it actually worked...

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

No difference in my experience. Tried both. Would recommend putting the storage in the fromt with the heatsink as the drive gets hotter. I have the wifi in the back now. If you don’t connect antenna cables the reception is better in the front, atleast in my computer case.

    OpenCore z390 Aorus Pro WIFI?

Maybe it's time to change topic for this thread? Since OP switched motherboard this conversation isn't applicable to the ITX mobo. It's a bit confusing if you jump in and see references to bios versions that doesn't even exist for the mobo.

    OpenCore z390 Aorus Pro WIFI?

Isn’t that basically the same mobo, just different form factor?

    OpenCore z390 Aorus Pro WIFI?

You can get Bluetooth working with the Intel card on your board. In fact, I used it daily for months connecting my Bose headphones. I later got a native Wifi/BT card and put it in the back M.2 slot which works great. Running 0.5.9 with 10.15.6. Switched from Clover to OC.

Error updating from 10.15.4 to 10.15.6 using Clover

Updated Clover to 5120 which today is the latest. All kexts and drivers are up to date according to Clover configurator. I update from System Preferences and computer reboots. I get a new entry in Clover saying 'Boot macOS Install from Mac OS - Data. I pick that and as soon as it tries booting I...

    Gigabyte z490i ITX / 10900K / Opencore 0.5.9 / Catalina 15.5.5 / Ncase M1

Is the native wifi card non replaceable for the z490 as it is for the z390? I have the same wifi card and m.2 solution in my motherboard and experiencing the same sleep issues.

Catalina Sleep / Wake up problem - working fine before login

Did you solve this? I have the same issue. Trying to pinpoint when it arouse because sleep used to work. Might be related to when I installed the RX580. I have the same wifi card and will try to disconnect the internal usb to see if that’s causing the immediate wake. In your case there’s many...

Working Wifi and BT via m.2 for Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi

The first one looks like the one I'm using. With the BCM94360CS2 it's working great. It replaced my Samsung EVO 970 so it's not replacing the Intel WiFi card but rather one of the drives.
