I am in utter disbelief, but this worked! Replaced 0300913E (not sure where I got that one!:banghead:) with 0300C59B in DeviceProperties/Add/PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)/AAPL,ig-platform-id.
Thank you so much!!! :thumbup::thumbup:
How can I access the crash logs when the system keeps crashing before I get a chance to access them? Can it be done from Recovery mode? I assume I can access the crash logs using Terminal, but I don't know how to do this.
UPDATE: I created a second Ventura boot drive from a spare SSD, and used...
Fresh install of opencore and Ventura, with spoofed RX 6650XT. Everything works perfectly first few times, but then persistant crashes on rebooting. I am not sure where to start with troubleshooting this. I tried reinstalling OS, which worked on the first try only, before the crashing resumed. Help!
Yes, but I'm having a hard time generalizing the Dortania guide to the newer cards, plus understanding how to get the device path without using Windows or Linux. The Dortania guide suggests making an SSDT, but am I right in saying that changing/spoofing the Device-ID in the DeviceProperties is...
Right now, I think the 6650XT, 6800XT and 6950XT are the best values for money at different price/performance points. With two out of three requiring spoofing, I think a simple, step-by-step guide would be useful.
I will be replacing my Nvidia GT710 with the AMD RX 6650 XT. Is there any version of OSX on which both cards will run? I'm running Big Sur currently, but that won't work with the new card. Thank you.
I know you can't go on forever, but it would be great if @CaseySJ could update the OP post#1 to explicity reflect how to use the Z790 with the original EFI. Specifically, the implications on things like Thunderbolt and the USB map.
Raptor Lake Motherboards Allegedly Hit With Ethernet Controller Flaw
PSA: Intel I226-V 2.5GbE on Raptor Lake Motherboards Has a Connection Drop Issue: No Fix Available
Z790 motherboards have I226-V 2.5GbE, while Z690 only have the previous gen I225-V.
Edit (2023-02-19): This seems to be fixed...
This video is side-by-side comparison of ProArt Creator Z790 vs Z690. Mostly concerns the physical differences, not performance. Does not mention Thunderbolt.
The logic is correct, but the calculation should be based on threads, not cores. The i9 has 32 threads, of which 16 are P and 16 are E. So 50% chance of randomly choosing a P core for single-threaded work.
