@CaseySJ: the link on the first page of this series is stale. The link at the last bullet point in the below note. If that post is available I would appreciate apointer. NOTE 2: The following devices/drivers may cause problems and should be avoided: The MQUPIN Fenvi T919 may cause...

Memory, SPD, XMP, and "pomped up" specs

I am looking at Corsair Vengeane LPX memory (CMK64GX4M2D3600C18) and wonder about its specs. It is sold as being able to run @ 3600MHz 18-22-22-42, 1.35V. However the SPD related spec say 2133 15-15-15-36, 1.2V (PC4-28800) @ XMP2.0. Do you need to have XMP enabled/active in order to run at...

    Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

@CaseySJ "With standard DisplayPort and HDMI monitors, these systems work very well on “regular” computing tasks, even software development with Xcode." I was under the impression that DP and HDMI provided by the motherboard of AMD based boards are a no go with Hackintosh. Do you mean to tell...

    Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

@xtreem.p You mentioned the ASrock X570 (Phantom gaming ITX). I would love to go to Ryzen, however compared to the ASRock Z490 this X570 motherboard seems to be much lighter weight when it comes to connectivity. (USB3.2, 2.5Gb ethernet, 2 NVME). Some of these constraints can be tackled by using...

does it exist: m-ITX with specific features for Catalina/Big Sur install

I want the following features available on a m-ITX motherboard that should work with Catalina/Big-Sur. To be used for the next 5 to 8 years. Either Z490 or AMD. I read many specs, but it seems at least one of these features is always missing. 64GByte internal memory Sound, with SPDIF Ethernet...

Need Advice on Building a AMD Ryzen System

An AMD system could be very nice. I did not consider it till now since I have the impression not everything works. My issue is that I cannot get a list of what does and what does not work. I want/need: sleep, audio (SPDIF), bluetooth, WiFi, handover, continuity, ethernet (1G, 2,5G, eventually...

Ready for the next 5-8 years

Planning a new fully Mojave ready(including handover etc etc) powerful Hackintosh based on Z390. CPU likely I7 . 32-64GByte internal. 2x M2. Ready for 5K@60 or twice 4K@60. USB 3.1 gen 2, PCI-E card

Is there a USB 3.1 gen 2, PCI-E card that can be used with a Hackintosh (Sierra and later)? I am looking for fast external storage to make sharing of files/apps between the Macbook Pro and my current Hackintosh a workable alternative. Unfortunately the Hackintosh only has USB 3.0 on the motherboard.

    Tiny Turd Node202: ASrock Z370 Fatal1ty Gaming Mini-ITX/ac | i7-8700K | 16GB | UHD 630 | High Sierra

I would appreciate your effort on this one. If possible also DP 4K, fullHD via HDMI. Just some combinations. I believe it should be able to do 4K twice but never heard anyone do it

Can you confirm that HDMI and DP work when used at the same time? To drive 2 4K displays that is.

    unibeast 6.1 issue

    unibeast 6.1 issue

maybe of importance, but from Clover USB boot I cannot boot into my old Yosemite installation too. After mentioning it passed the bluetooth device it reboots. Fortunately I can still boot the old way (although I had to change BIOS to also be able to boot from legacy disk).
