I am currently experiencing issues with jpg images in finder. This has been apparent since moving to Mojave. I have also been struggling with h.264 files in premiere since moving over and I have no choice but create proxies, even though I have a high powered system. Any advice greatly...

How are real Macbook Pro's in video editing?

I use a MacBook Pro for field editing, but for anything labour intensive I go to the hackingtosh, as it's much faster in all fronts, playback, editing, transcoding, exporting etc.

How are real Macbook Pro's in video editing?

Create proxies with drone footage or transcode the footage to an editable format, h.264 isn't made for editing and it can put a lot of strain on the system. You can either create proxies on ingest of the media or select the clips in the bin, right click and select create proxies. It will open...

Random shut down in High Sierra

Hi Pilgrim, just wondering if you can help. I'm still getting the system trip on me when I'm video editing. I have replaced the PSU which was RM650X to a new one, then moved to EVGA 850G2 incase it was a power issue. Changed the GPU to Sapphire Nitro + Vega 64 Changed the pump from H60 to H80i...

Random shut down in High Sierra

Okay scrap that, still having a power failure. I'll nee editing in premiere and then all of a sudden it switches off. This is normally if I'm scrubbing the timeline. Summary, replaced PS, replaced cooler, re-seated GPU and Ram. Could it be the GPU? I've been considering losing the Nvidia...

Random shut down in High Sierra

Update on the power failure. I had an RMA from corsair and they sent out a new PS, which seemed to fix the issue fr a short while, until it went back to shutting off. I then changed the cooler to the Corsair H80i and that has fixed the issue completely, the CPU packages are not getting too...

Computer crashes when exporting in Premiere Pro CC

No, I had a faulty power supply so I sent it back to Corsair and they replaced it. Seems to be fine now. I have crashes in prem but it’s just because it’s crap. Such a buggy NLE which is a shame as it’s nice to use when it works.

Computer crashes when exporting in Premiere Pro CC

My issue was because it was selected on open GL, as soon as I opened the project it would crash, so I opened the project and quickly selected CUDA and it stopped happening. Also 2017 is buggy, so if you're on cc, upgrade to 2019. I also have my computer just switch off once it was under load...

Random shut down in High Sierra

No worries, looking to double the Rad size, as it's the likely culprit here. Just getting too hot to fast. Thanks for your help on this though

Random shut down in High Sierra

Hey Pilgrim ,thanks for the reply. Yesterday it quit on me during editing, so when I restarted I used HW monitor and opened every app in my adobe suite and it switched off. The cores got pretty hot almost immediately, so looking at your first suggestion, I'm thinking that it might be the issue...

Random shut down in High Sierra

I am currently running High Sierra 10.3.6 and the system is pretty stable apart from one annoying issue. If I add multiple tasks and put the system under load, it can sometimes just switch off. For example, I had premiere pro open and then used Lightroom to export some images and whilst under...

[Solved] Mojave black screen after restart, cannot rescue

Hi, I have the same problem. I tried to update to Mojave and didn't see, the fact that there are no drivers for the 1070 GPU. I now get a black screen after any clover. I created a new multicast tool with high Sierra on it, so I could get back in and restore via time machine, but just get a...

    [Solved] Hackingtosh shuts down under-load

Ahh okay, thanks. Maybe it's the UEFI version, as all of the parts were brand new in Feb, so shouldn't have failed this early on. I'll have a look. Thanks.

    [Solved] Hackingtosh shuts down under-load

Hey guys, I'm hoping that someone could help or confirm my suspicions. I am using my build for editing 4k material, it works pretty smoothly, but I keep getting random shut downs. Basically the machine will just trip and restart, mainly when I'm asking it to work a bit harder. Originally I...

High Sierra - Graphic Lag with 1080

Hi, Thanks for the info. I did this and it seems to be running fine. I also notice that inject Nvidia was checked under graphics, so I un-checked it and the lag seems to have disappeared since I updated to 10.13.4 and installed the latest drivers. :)

High Sierra - Graphic Lag with 1080

Yeah I'm not sure that selling the 1070 will be my first choice, but I'll wipe and install sierra and see where that takes me. If I have the same issue then it will be the solution. But it appears the issue is somehow linked with high sierra, which I hate anyway.
