Did you make sure the USB stick is in an USB2 port? Installing via USB3 wasn't possible for me on that board. I had to plug my drive in the back for the installation (make sure it's the USB2 port).

I've seen some on ebay and sites like Craigslist.com. It's good because you can go test the machine before spending the money. If you do buy one from these sellers make sure you test important stuff : sleep/wake, usb2/usb3 and network

I tried another DSDT (specifically for P5Qpro deluxe) and this one worked better. By that I mean I can now use the system under 10.7.3

- the USB Lion install,
- reboot my Lion partition via the USB key boot loader
- install the combo update 10.7.3
